Full Circle Home Veterinary Care

Full Circle Home Veterinary Care Veterinary housecall practice providing welllness exams, care for sick pets, hospice care, euthanasia, and behavioral consults by Dr. Anja Wurm
(17)

My goal is to provide veterinary care in a way you have not experienced before. For me Full Circle Home Veterinary Care means caring for your animal from the moment it enters your home, guiding it gracefully through the golden years and then to a farewell that is as peaceful and pain free as possible. Being in your own home means that you and your pet can relax and get more out of your veterinary visit then you have ever before

Amazing update!!

❤️ LOTTIE is home safe! She was humanely trapped in St Albans

From Jess Gallas, who was boots on the ground, and would stop at nothing to get this dog home safe:

10/6/24 Update on Lottie, Lost from Middlebury. Lottie is safe tonight♥️

Lost and running from Middlebury to St. Albans for 30 days, over 65 miles.

Thank you to Sue Wear for your endless knowledge, guidance and expertise in helping to bring Lottie to safety🙏

Thank you to Central Vermont Canine Recovery, as they were very involved with tracking Lottie in the early weeks of her adventures.

To every community that Lottie ventured through, thank you for keeping an eye out for her, putting food out, checking your cameras, allowing us to put cameras and feeding stations on your property, for sharing these posts and calling in sightings of this poor girl. Thank you🙏

The home on Highgate Rd. in St. Albans that Lottie ultimately decided the cat food being put out was top notch, was just the right thing to make her stop running and come back repeatedly for more. Dylan thank you🙏 For being more than accommodating for us to get Lottie safe tonight.

To Lotties owners, thank you for trusting the process, and letting us bring her back home to you.

Your adventures are over Lottie. Happy life sweet girl ❤️

Update on US-Canadian travel with dogs!!
Super important!!

The CDC and USDA have changed the laws (starting August 1st) around dogs traveling back and forth between the US and Canada. The following are the new requirements for low-risk countries (Mexico/Canada):

Requirements:
• All dogs must be six months of age or older to enter the US. This means even Vermont puppies who are appropriately vaccinated will not be able to re-enter the US until they are at least six months old.
• All dogs must have a microchip in place. Timing of microchip placement is no longer an issue.
• A current rabies vaccine.
• You, the owner, will have to fill out a form for the CDC. One form can be used for multiple pets and is valid for 6-months. https://cdc-786687.workflowcloud.com/forms/090dc543-7b2f-4538-b2c7-2919d12ecc73
• There is no veterinary (health certificate) involvement for Canada

Please listen (with tissues) if you want to understand a little bit more about why I do what I do, and how I respond to the comment,
"This must be the worst part of your job" when I am putting an animal to sleep.
In their home.
With their beloveds surrounding them.
It is truly an honor.
Dr. Erika Bruner and I have been in each other's orbits for SO long. Same high school, same ice cream shop and then, same School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. She started her housecall practice a year or so before I did and she was so encouraging and generous with her advice.
Thank you, Erika!! And congrats on this amazing story and may I say you have the most soothing voice ever! I think radio may be another one of your callings!
Please share this VPR story so more people can learn about the amazing act of having your animal put to sleep in their home. It amazes me how many people are surprised that this service exists.

In Vermont, there are a handful of vets who will provide at-home euthanasia for pets, but Dr. Bruner is one of two that have practices that focus primarily on end-of-life care, a growing area of veterinary medicine. Vermont Public joined Dr. Bruner on a home euthanasia visit.

In summary: this may be more of a media outbreak than an infectious disease outbreak. Use common sense, be aware, do not panic.

Dr. Scott Weese, DVM has a great blog called Worms and Germs. This is where I go when I hear there may be a new horrible thing to be worried about :
"We’ve been lead down the wrong path many times before by reports of a “new” organism found in sick animals (e.g. the panic about canine circovirus). People freak out, start testing more sick animals, find it, and freak out more. However, when the science catches up with the hype, we often realize that we can find the bug in the same percentage of healthy animals, and it’s just a normal inhabitant that we’ve recently discovered, versus something new that is causing disease. With modern molecular techniques, our ability to find something often surpasses our ability to understand it."

As concerns about an outbreak of canine infectious respiratory disease in the US continue, we’re still at a point where media hype massively outweighs any

Local folks PLEASE SHARE: be careful on the base of Buck Mountain. My own dog ate something there (probably human p**p with THC in it) that made him VERY lethargic and unable to walk. He's ok now but I wanted to warn others. I tried to go back and pick it up when I realized how sick it made him but I couldn't find it.

Ma*****na is toxic to dogs. Here’s a look at symptoms, treatments, and when to get help.
