Cesareans can be performed as life saving measures, but that doesn’t mean they don’t come with possible life long care. Possible issues after healing from a teC-section can be pelvic floor issues, which can lead to incontinence and/or constipation, back pain, weakened core muscles and more! If you’re just hearing about scar massage for the first time today, don’t worry it’s never too late! I personally recommend seeing a pelvic floor therapist to get more specialized help, but scar tissue massage is pretty easy! You just have to move the tissue on and around your scar to break up the scar tissue. If it feels like you’re ripping your scar open, don’t worry that’s the fascia breaking apart which is what we want! (Unless of course you’re still healing that’s a different story) But, if it’s painful just back off on the pressure/pulling of the tissue, consistency is key not how hard you can press.I love my therapist @karepelvichealth and I know if I’m wrong or off on anything I’ve stated here she’ll correct me seeing as she is the expert and I’m just sharing my experience 😉 she does have a post about C-section scar care in her pregnancy highlight towards the last 1/3 of the highlight I recommend you check out for more info! I LOVE my dresses! I love how they make me feel! I love how comfortable they are, I love how modest they are. They are perfect! How important are minerals, truly? Basically minerals help keep us alive. When we are deficient in minerals our bones can become brittle, our blood may not have enough oxygen moving through it, metabolizing our food becomes difficult, our blood can stop clotting, our heart can start beating irregularly. Our minerals are supposed to come from our food, BUT we have depleted our soil which means our food is not nearly as potent when it comes to mineral richness these days. Enter in mineral supplementation! It’s typically a liquid so it’s easy to add to a beverage such as this homemade electrolyte drink. I am looking forward to doing this detox again during the summer, but until then I will be doing a nutritional gut cleanse, and preparing my detox pathways to be fully open! This includes doing scar massage on my C-section scar! Fun fact! Some women’s scar tissue can actually impede their bowel movements! Scar massage to break up that fascia is one way to get those bowels moving regularly again. Thankful for my pelvic floor therapist for constantly reminding me of this!
So, who is gonna prepare for this detox with me? We’ve got a couple of months to prepare, but I’m starting my 4-6 week nutrition cleanse in the next week or two and I know I already have one other person interested!
