Urgent, urgent, urgent!!!!!!!!🚨 🆘🆘
4pm deadline five month old Shep puppy
Hollis is just five months old. She came into the shelter as a stray and shortly after intake, she began to have a seizure. She was immediately brought to Veterinary Services for emergency care, but her condition quickly worsened. She progressed to being lateral and, during her exam, experienced another seizure.
On physical exam, her mucous membranes were pink and moist, and her capillary refill time was under two seconds. Her heart and lungs sounded normal. She was hydrated, but she showed discomfort on abdominal palpation and had reportedly been experiencing bloody diarrhea. Her body condition score was 3/9, suggesting she has been underweight for some time.
Hollis tested negative for parvo, and her blood chemistry panel came back within normal limits. Despite that, her symptoms remain very serious, and she continues to be at risk. Based on her clinical signs, veterinarians are considering several possible causes, including congenital conditions like a liver shunt or brain abnormality, infectious disease such as distemper, or even trauma.
Right now, Hollis is under close observation and receiving supportive care, but her future is uncertain. If her seizures continue or her condition worsens, humane euthanasia may be necessary to prevent further suffering.
Due to the severity of her condition, she needs a rescue commitment by 4PM(pending improvement)
