PetsPaw’s Policies
*We require all owners to give us up-to-date copies of the rabies certificates. The tags are not acceptable, as they do not tell us when they expire, or verify that the pet
wearing the tag is the one that received the vaccination. If you do not have access to the updated rabies certificate at the time of the appointment, you will need to reschedule, as we will be unable to work on your pet that day.
* We ask that for the safety of all involved, all pets be brought in either on a leash or in a pet carrier.
*If your dog/ cat takes longer and/or requires an extra groomer, either because of behavior or the condition of the coat, the extra time will be charged for at a rate of $27/hr. Severely matted dogs/ cats may have to be shaved. We will use our best judgment to do what is best for your pet.
*Dogs dropped off early or left past their planned appointment time will be charged a $5/hr kenneling fee. 1/2 hour before the appointment and 1/2 hour after the completion of the grooming are included in the grooming cost. Cats are not to be left past their appointment time, as we do not have appropriate places for them to use the restroom. If you do not pick up your pet before our posted closing time, there will be an automatic $10 late charge added to the bill.
*Should a pet come in with fleas, we will immediately bathe the cat/ dog in our flea & tick shampoo to prevent them from spreading to other animals. A $10 fee will be added to the price upon pick up.
*If you should arrive before your dog/ cat's grooming is complete, we ask that you sit quietly in the waiting area. Hearing or seeing you may cause your pet to act out of excitement, making grooming more difficult and increasing the chance of accidents.
* If you are more than 15 minutes late, we will not have the time to give your pet the attention it needs before our next appointment and you will be considered a no-show. There will be a $12 no-show fee added to your next appointment.
* A cancellation in the 24 hours prior to the appointment will be considered a no-show. There will be a $12 no-show fee added to you next appointment.
* If you are turned away or you no-show, your next appointment will also have a $12 no-show fee. We understand that life happens, and we will provide leniency where appropriate.
*We reserve the right to turn away any animal that we judge to pose a danger to itself, our staff, or the other pets in the building.
*In the unfortunate event of an emergency warranting veterinary care, PetsPaw will attempt to contact the owner for guidance; However, if the owner is unable to be reached PetsPaw will seek treatment at Cedar County Veterinary Services in Vermillion, SD at the owners expense.
