We are a small non-profit dog rescue. We rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, on their last day. We give them a second chance at life. Most of these dogs have never felt a loving home, a warm bed, a toy to play with, or someone to just give them a pat on the head. We rescue dogs from shelters and owner surrenders from the state of Connecticut. We are a very small dedicated group, who run this resc

ue only on donations, and out of our own pockets. Any donation is never too little and it is always greatly appreciated. We also help families, who need to surrender their dogs, and we will help them find foster homes or forever homes for them. When we rescue a dog, the dog is brought to the vet to get a clean bill of health. They are given a Rabie shot, Distemper shot, Bordetella shot, checked for Lyme Disease, Heartworm and for Parasites. Then they are micro-chipped and neutered or spayed. If we have a dog that has medical issues, and they need surgery, we try to do a fundraiser to help with the medical bills. We pay for all vet bills out of our own pockets, so any donation is greatly appreciated. My name is Harvey and I'm a male Yorkie Poo and I'm 1 yr old and I weigh 15 lbs. I'm black and tan in color. I'm neutered and I'm up to date on all my shots.

I'm housetrained and I'm crate trained. I'm good with other dogs and cats.

NO CHILDREN PLEASE.
I will need an experienced dog owner because I bit my new owner and was returned to rescue. I've had no issues in my foster home. I would like a quiet home so that I can bond with my new family. I do bark at strangers, but hey, lots of dogs do, right!

I will need some training and someone who has patience for me. I will need regular grooming. I was found roaming the streets and the local animal shelter picked me up and then I went into rescue. Now I'm ready to find my new forever home, will it be you?

Our Story

We are a small non-profit (not a 501c3) dog rescue. We are a 501 registered with the State of Connecticut and we have a EIN #. We are a very small dedicated group (Sue Phelps, Ed LeGault, Allison Vorchheimer, Robbi Lee Roy, Jay Phelps and Fran Skoglund), who run this rescue only on donations, and out of our own pockets.

We also have dogs that are non-adoptable because of medical and behavior issues (mostly senior dogs) and they will stay with us until the end of their lives. They will be our sanctuary dogs. Come visit us on Facebook and "LIKE" us... Website: www.sarahs-secondchance.com
