We are a small non-profit dog rescue. We rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, on their last day. We give them a second chance at life.
Most of these dogs have never felt a loving home, a warm bed, a toy to play with, or someone to just give them a pat on the head. We rescue dogs from shelters and owner surrenders from the state of Connecticut. We are a very small dedicated group, who run this rescue only on donations, and out of our own pockets. Any donation is never too little and it is always greatly appreciated. We also help f
amilies, who need to surrender their dogs, and we will help them find foster homes or forever homes for them. When we rescue a dog, the dog is brought to the vet to get a clean bill of health. They are given a Rabie shot, Distemper shot, Bordetella shot, checked for Lyme Disease, Heartworm and for Parasites. Then they are micro-chipped and neutered or spayed. If we have a dog that has medical issues, and they need surgery, we try to do a fundraiser to help with the medical bills. We pay for all vet bills out of our own pockets, so any donation is greatly appreciated. My name is Raven and I'm a female purebred Chow Chow. I'm 4 years old and I weigh 50 lbs. I'm black in color. I'm spayed and up to date on all my shots. I was 4DX tested and tested negative.
I'm housetrained and crate trained. I am good with other dogs, NO cats because I will chase them. NO small children due to my breed, but I’m okay with older children.
I was rescued from Wethersfield Animal Control and I was tested positive for Heartworm. I was treated for Heartworm and now I tested negative so now I'm ready for my forever home. I'm a good girl and I absolutely love car rides!

Along with the refundable bottle and cans, we now take all juice, sport drinks, tea and coffee bottles and cans.
They can be dropped off any time or day and left by the garage doors at 182 Skinner Rd, Vernon CT 06066. We are always in need of refundable bottles and cans. You think it's only 10 cents, but those 10 cents add up and help us with paying vet bills for all our rescue and sanctuary dogs. This is a great way to donate to our rescue. It is an on going collection yearly. Please, help us and donate your refundable bottles and cans to our rescue.

🐾 This is our hardest post to write. 🐾
Brass City Rescue Alliance has always been a safe haven for the forgotten, the abandoned, the misunderstood — especially the so-called "bully" breeds, who so often have nowhere else to go. We’ve been there for them when no one else would… but today, we are the ones who desperately need help.
Right now, our rescue is overflowing.
💔 Adoptions have slowed to almost nothing.
💔 Families make appointments and never show.
💔 Dogs are waiting for medical care we can’t afford.
💔 Everyday bills — food, vet visits, insurance, utilities — are more than we can carry.
💔 Our bank account is nearly empty. In fact, we have an insurance bill due this week and less than 20% of the total in the bank at the moment.
We are facing the unthinkable: the possibility of not being able to keep our doors open.
But here’s what keeps us fighting: the dogs.
The ones who wag their tails even after surviving cruelty.
The ones who press their heads into our hands, begging for love.
The ones who have no one else in this world but us… and you.
These lives depend on whether we can hold on. And we can’t do it alone.
🙏 Please, if you believe every dog deserves safety, a full belly, and the chance to be loved — help us today. Your donation, no matter the size, is the difference between despair and hope.
Together, we can keep Brass City Rescue Alliance alive.
Together, we can keep our promise to them.
Together, we can give them tomorrow. 💕
