I am very familiar with this breed but it is not super common in our area. In fact, this is the first one I have ever groomed. Nala was such a love and did great for her first grooming.

Bruno (back) and Bowie (front) are toy poodle brothers who have been coming to me since they were puppies! We don't do the traditional poodle style cut on them but I think they're absolutely handsome!

Happy New Year!!!!
2023 was a big year for me. In April, I moved to my own shop. I am forever grateful to the clients that followed me and the many referrals that have gained me new clients. I pray that all of you have many blessings and good health in the New Year!

Did someone say puppy? Meet Jack!!!
I recommend starting your puppies as soon as they have completed their vaccination protocol. Generally, I start them with a bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, and a short session with the handheld blow dryer. I work slowly, at the puppy's pace before adding full hair cuts. Some puppies do better and can handle more quicker and some need to take things more slowly.
A positive experience is always most important!

Ebby, toy poodle, came in for a visit today. She has been a regular since she was a puppy (this is her third visit) and she is getting so good for me to groom! Her mom doesn't like the traditional poodle face, so we changed it up a bit with a top knot and a fuller muzzle.

"Extra charges may occur for the following: dematting, fleas, difficult dogs, and daycare services (this must be prearranged)!"
These are all things that take extra time on top of the normal allotted time for your dog and I hope you all can understand.

4/24/23 will be a date to remember forever, the start of a new chapter! For those who don't know yet, I opened my own dog grooming salon. Today was my first day open.
This has all been made possible by my most supportive family! I couldn't have done it without them. We spent countless hours, turning this barn into my dream!
This has also happened thanks to my supportive customers. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you all. I can't wait to share this with you guys!

If your dog is shedding, put it outside for 10-15 minutes today! That should do the trick. Not advised for dogs under 20lbs.

My next client feature is going to be Rebel!!! Rebel is a mini Aussie and, y'all, this boy loves his momma and is not happy to leave her. When I first started grooming Rebel he wouldn't look at me, let alone walk back with me as mom left. He has come so far! He still doesn't like mom leaving but he will now walk willingly back to my room with me and will give me kisses on my table. Also, I've tried SO many times to take his picture and he wouldn't even look at me. I think this picture shows how far he's come!

My next client feature is Mr Jake! I chose him as my next feature because he is a lucky boy this week. He had an appointment on Monday and his mom text me to cancel because he had gone missing. Thank goodness this sweet boy was found and I was able to get him cleaned up for them. Jake is a shipoo and has come a long way since I started grooming him as a wiggly little guy.

I have put a lot of thought into the details of starting my dog grooming business. I like things that have a meaning behind them. With a little help, I came up with the name Pooch Spaw, after my first childhood dog. Her name was Maggie, but as most dogs do, she had a few nicknames and POOCH was one of them! I always tell the dogs that it is their sPAW day when their owners drop them off, and who can resist a play on words.
Here is a picture of Maggie, one of my favorites of her. We didn't get many because she was camera shy!
