Lewis (yellow lab, 10 years old) and Roger (golden retriever, 3) both love the indoor and outdoor park! Both pups are able to move at their own pace which is the best part! They also love the enrichment toys and baby pool in the summer! ☀️ we can’t wait to have you back soon! 🤩

This pup knows how to beat the heat! ☀️🐾

Now that is getting warmer out, here are a few ways to help your furry friend stay cool in the summer (and at the park)!

1. Provide Shade: Ensure your dog has access to shaded areas. At Dairy Ridge, we have a shaded area for you and your pup to go to when it’s extra hot out. You can also book at our indoor location for complete shade!

2. Stay Hydrated: Always have fresh, clean water available for your dog, especially during hot weather. Consider adding ice cubes to the water bowl to keep it cool longer.

3. Limit Exercise: Avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest parts of the day. Opt for the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler. We have early visits starting at 6am and we’re open until 8pm! As mentioned before, our indoor park is also the perfect place to beat the heat.

4. Cooling Mats or Beds: Invest in a cooling mat or bed for your dog to lie on. These products are designed to dissipate heat and provide relief from hot surfaces.

5. Dog-Friendly Frozen Treats: Make homemade frozen treats using dog-safe ingredients like plain yogurt, peanut butter, or fruit. You can also find commercial frozen treats specifically made for dogs!

6. Avoid Hot Surfaces: Keep your dog off hot pavement, sand, or asphalt, as these surfaces can burn their paw pads. Stick to grassy areas or use protective paw wax or booties.

7. Water Activities: If your dog enjoys swimming and/or playing in the water, we have a little pool for them to lounge in and cool off! 😎

8. Never Leave in a Parked Car: Never leave your dog in a parked car, even for a few minutes. On a hot day, temperatures inside a car can quickly reach dangerous levels, even with the windows cracked open.

Theo and River are too cute for words!

Theo (Samoyed) loves watching the cows and River (Alaskan Malamute) enjoys climbing on all the obstacles, and they both love touring the flowers. We’re so glad these pups enjoy coming to Dairy Ridge! 🤩

Important reminders!

💥All toys absolutely need to be returned to the toy box before leaving the park. We did an early morning clean up and found a lot of the toys around the park. 💥Do not arrive early or stay past the “50” minute time. We’ve had people staying past the 50 minute time and using up a handful of minutes of the next clients sessions. If you are training out there and your clients are not on social media please spread the reminder of this very important rule!
💥We list we do not provide water. I try really hard to keep the water filled in the shelter-please keep in mind it may run out and you should bring your own incase that happens. No water dish provided. Going back to the arriving early rule, there are times I need to utilize those 10 minutes 😉

Having packages allows you to cancel and reschedule appointments on your own. ✨Remember the outdoor dog park is open at that same time, keep your dogs leashed until you enter either park. ✨Here are some photos from a client that helped us with ideas and equipment to fill the space. ✨We are open to suggestions and ideas for the new dog park!
