Fun Fact Friday: Did you know that most feline house-soiling is due to litterbox stress?

Cats prefer at least 1 litterbox per cat in the household plus 1 extra. They do like them to be in different spots and to be at least 2 times as long as their body and 1.5x as wide. This can be achieved with an under-the-bed storage box made for storing clothing. Many cats do not like really deep litter so you can try only putting about an inch in this larger box.

Wilbur was so kind to demostrate the difference in a traditional litterbox vs an under the bed sweater tote. The traditional box does not have enough space for him to correctly posture, while the large tote and gave him ample space to move and pick the perfect spot.

If you have a cat that likes to urinate on their tippy toes, you can can also get a large storage tote, and cut an entrance into the side.
