Lois Lawrence, a founding member of Angel's Wish, once rescued a kitten from a construction site. Weak with starvation, dehydration, and a severe upper respiratory infection, neither veterinary treatment nor Lois’ love and care could save the kitten from the effects of that hot June day. We believe that Angel's Wish would have been that no other animal be subjected to pain, suffering, abandonment or neglect.

Why? Because the party was so good, we’re celebrating for another weekend! We’re continuing our reduced adoption fees this weekend to make sure that as many cats as possible find forever homes, and to clear space to take new friends in.

Today was the first adoption event during our 25th Birthday adoption special, and 22 kitties found their new homes! 13 five-month-old and ups were adopted for $25, plus 7 kittens, too! We also celebrate 2 Forget-Me-Nots going home...Kenzie and Grover! What a great start, and we still have nearly 70 kitties to still choose from! We can't wait to see who goes home tomorrow! 😻

🌼 Special, strong, and ready to be yours with a waived adoption fee through Sunday, November 23: meet Daisy. A tiny kitten with a huge heart, Daisy may look delicate, but she’s full of inner strength and sparkle.

With her soft brown-and-white tabby coat, pink-and-black toe beans, and big hazel eyes, she’s pure perfection. Playful, snuggly, and endlessly sweet, Daisy is ready to bloom in a home as special as she is.

You may notice Daisy moves a bit differently from other cats. An illness as a kitten left her a little wobbly, and Daisy was diagnosed with cerebellar ataxia—aka “Wobbly Cat Syndrome.” She doesn’t let this stop her from her kitten nature, and she climbs, scampers, and hops her way through life with unstoppable joy.

Daisy’s looking for someone with patience and understanding of her movement troubles, ideally with soft floors and minimal stairs. Cerebellar ataxia is a lifelong condition, and the best medicine is a calm, forever home for Daisy to feel safe in, even if she takes a few tumbles.

Earlier this year, Angel’s Wish turned 25, and we’re keeping the celebration going the best way we know how—with an adoption party! We’re on track for our biggest adoption year yet, but our condos and foster homes are nearing catpacity. To make space for more cats and kittens waiting for their chance at forever, we’re reducing adoption fees for the next two weekends:

Every cat adopted from Angel's Wish is prepared for a healthy, happy life. They are microchipped, spayed or neutered, given initial deworming, up-to-date on vaccines, and tested for FeLV/FIV.

Spaying and neutering is the most vital step in reducing animal overpopulation and enhancing animal welfare. Cats can get pregnant as young as four months old, and a single litter can rapidly multiply. By preventing litters, we not only save lives and free up much-needed shelter and foster space, but also contribute to the long-term health and positive behavior of cats.

Thankfully, many local clinics and organizations make this important surgery affordable for everyone—both pet owners and community cat colony caretakers. Check out our website for low-cost options through Sauk County Humane Society, WisCARES-Wisconsin Companion Animal Resources, Education, & Social Services, Precision Veterinary, and more.

Earlier this year, in September, we hosted our very first on-site spay/neuter day for Angel’s Wish animals. With the help of our amazing partners at Dane County Humane Society and 10 dedicated Angel’s Wish volunteers, 19 cats received their surgeries. Since that day, we’ve hosted four more on-site surgery days and provided surgery to over 100 cats and kittens. We’re so grateful for the compassionate DCHS veterinary team and can’t wait to keep this lifesaving work going! 🐾💛

Say cheese! Our dairy darlings are here, and they’re brie-lliant in every way. 🧀😽

This litter of six little cheese puffs has been melting hearts since the moment they arrived—two have already found forever homes! Orphaned as tiny kittens, they were lovingly bottle-fed and raised by hand, and they’ve grown into some of the most affectionate, people-loving kittens around. At just over two months old, they’re full of curiosity, cuddles, and kitten chaos in all the best ways.

They love humans, other cats, and even dogs—so wherever they go, these little wedges of joy are sure to spread smiles. Meet the remaining crew, all boys eagerly awaiting adoption:
🧀 Colby Jack: White with black markings and a mischievous glint in his eye. He’s endlessly curious and always first to explore.
🧀 Monterey Jack: A gentle goofball with a white tabby coat and a heart full of charm.
🧀 Muenster: A classic brown tabby with a heart as soft as his fur. Muenster melts for snuggles and quiet affection.
🧀 Pepper Jack: Spicy in name only, this black-and-white sweetheart is pure love and packed with purrs.

In honor of , we’re sending heartfelt thanks to the incredible shelter partners who make our work possible—and to the amazing volunteers, fosters, and supporters who help us continue their lifesaving mission.

Angel’s Wish may not be a shelter itself, but over half of the cats and kittens who come through our doors begin their journey thanks to the dedicated staff and volunteers at our partner shelters. From welcoming frightened strays and providing medical care to giving them the chance to find loving foster and adoptive homes, these shelter heroes are the foundation of every second chance.

It’s Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month, the purrfect time to celebrate the grace, wisdom, and quiet joy that our older feline friends bring into our lives. 💕

While we don’t currently have any cats over 11 years old—the usual senior cat threshold—this month still holds special meaning for us. We’d love to shine a little spotlight on some of our more seasoned residents—cats who may not have kitten energy anymore, but who have hearts full of love and stories waiting to continue in a forever home.

Here are a few of the wise, wonderful kitties waiting for homes to call their own:
🐾 Snowball: At eight-and-a-half years young, Snowball is our most senior resident and a true gentleman. With his snowy coat and love for people (including kids!), he’s happiest soaking up affection and attention. He’d do best as the only male cat in the home.
🐾 Billy: Our resident chatterbox! Billy has plenty to say and an endlessly charming way of saying it. His unique folded ears, from old hematomas, just add to his one-of-a-kind charm. After his family moved away, Billy’s been patiently waiting for a new home where he can share his sweet, talkative nature.
🐾 Marie: A survivor with a tender heart. Marie was rescued from a home with nearly 100 other cats, and she’s slowly learning what safety and love feel like. After an extensive dental surgery today at Verona Veterinary Medical Service, S.C., she’ll be feeling much better. She’ll need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and believes that love is worth the wait.
🐾 Bubbles: The newest member of our Forget-Me-Nots, Bubbles ended up at a shelter after going through a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program and has made incredible progress in her foster home in the last six months. She’s proof that second chances are powerful things. If you believe in giving love to those who need it most, she’d love to meet you by appointment.
🐾 Sammy: Currently holding court at Stoughton Veterinary Service, Sammy takes his temporary digs in stride—even with dozens of dogs parading by each day! Easygoing and affectionate, he’s the kind of cat who makes every space a little brighter.
🐾 Tessa: Like Marie, Tessa was rescued from that same large-scale hoarding situation. She’s shy and cautious but has shown glimpses of the sweetheart she’s meant to be. With time, patience, and understanding, Tessa will surely blossom into a loyal, loving companion.

Entering a shelter at an older age can be uniquely stressful. Age isn’t a limitation: it’s a gift. It brings wisdom, comfort, companionship, and the kind of love that only grows stronger with time.
