Lois Lawrence, a founding member of Angel's Wish, once rescued a kitten from a construction site. Weak with starvation, dehydration, and a severe upper respiratory infection, neither veterinary treatment nor Lois’ love and care could save the kitten from the effects of that hot June day. We believe that Angel's Wish would have been that no other animal be subjected to pain, suffering, abandonment or neglect.

After 20 years at our Horizon Drive location in Verona, our old exterior sign was showing its age. We couldn’t unsee it after spotting it in photos from our 25th anniversary celebration earlier this year. 😅

We're absolutely delighted to reveal the next chapter: a brand-new, beautifully lit sign, shining bright for the first time tonight! ✨

Thank you to everyone who helps us grow, evolve, and keep shining—inside and out. It really feels like the final step our remodel and expansion is complete, and we couldn't be more excited!

We may have missed posting for National Kitten Day yesterday—but for good reason! 🐾💛

While the internet was celebrating kittens, we were busy caring for them. We have nearly 150 in foster care, with 10 kittens having spay/neuter surgery yesterday. We also welcomed multiple groups of kittens (and some wonderful adults!) from two partner shelters. last night. Our volunteers have been hard at work giving these little ones the second chance they deserve.

We're highlighting Otti, Snarf, and Fastness again, our orange-and-white cuddle crew who are still waiting for someone to see how special they really are.

These mellow young adult bobtail and Manx boys aren’t your typical high-energy kitties. They’re professional loungers who spend most of their time curled up in a cozy kitty pile, quietly enjoying each other’s company. Originally they came from a home with over 40 cats, and they are the only ones still waiting for new homes.

At adoption events, people often walk right past them because they are always snuggling together in their kitty bed. Fastness usually gives a small hiss (although there is no malice behind it). Others are put off by their lack of tails and call them "weird." But here’s the thing: their tails—or lack of them—aren’t a flaw. They weren’t injured or mistreated. Otti, Snarf, and Fastness were simply born this way—bobtails and Manx cats with a genetic twist that makes them uniquely them.

As Forget-Me-Nots, they’ve been overlooked for far too long. But we believe their perfect person(s) is out there—someone who sees their uniqueness as something to love, not shy away from.

If you're looking for a big personality in a handsome package-Tuck is your guy!

Tuck is a sweet, silly boy who knows exactly what he wants: attention, please-and lots of it! He'll give you as many hugs as his big heart desires and isn't shy about demanding affection when he's in the mood. Feather toys? Yes, please! Tuck loves to play and is always up for a good game.

He's been through a lot-he was found abandoned in a carrier at the end of someone's driveway. Thankfully, a kind person brought him to a shelter, and he eventually made his way to Angel's Wish. He's ready to find a home where he'll be cherished.

Because Tuck can get a little over-stimulated when he's had enough petting, he's not the best match for families with small children. But in the right home, he's sure to thrive and make a wonderful companion.

Tuck misses having a family of his own. Could you be the one to bring him home?

We have nearly 50 kittens at our Verona Adoption Center today—and not a single one has been adopted yet! 😿

It’s another big spay/neuter day for our team! Azalea is one of nearly 20 cats and kittens being altered today between our amazing vet teams at Dane County Humane Society and Precision Veterinary.

That means… get ready! Dozens and dozens of adorable, playful kittens and some charming new adults will be making their debut at our Verona Adoption Center this weekend.
