An experienced rider with a novice horse & a novice rider with an experienced horse.
Just as these young horses need to build confidence, strength and fluidity, so do new exercise riders!
At Redbird Equine we love to nurture the growth and learning of both horses and their partners ❤️
Spring classes are in session at Redbird Equine. We're enjoying the diversity and effort of these Throghoubred trainees!
Late colt getting started, filly gaining confidence, and four-year-old coming out of a long layup.
P.S. Love Evie's encouragement for the filly - "Good job Filly"! This was fantastic growth for her, mentally and physically, to be out in an open pasture calmly walking a bit of hills.
This is a reminder to take a moment to reset and calm your nervous system! Explore something new by becoming "horse-like" in your approach to managing your stress levels throughout the day. Between activities or tasks try stretching, walking, taking a few deep breaths or shaking out your arms and legs as a way to "reset" before engaging in your next activity. This will help calm your nervous system so you can be open and aware for whats next. It will also reduce the build up of emotions and lower your chances of becoming stressed, overwhelmed and frustrated.
When we observe horses as examples of how to live more mindfuly, we see that they regulate their nervous system in this way. They roll, run, blow out, shake, yawn, etc. after moments of excitement, transition or learning. This seemly brings them back to a state of neutrality so they can process and be aware and ready for may happen next.
There’s still time to register for our free Virtual Mindful Monday Equine Meditation this evening (Oct. 23rd) at 7:00 p.m. Eastern! Click the link below to receive the GoogleMeet details.
Meditating with horses is a unique, restorative, and magical experience. The horses provide a welcoming environment that encourages our nervous system to relax, our senses to awaken, and our curiosity to expand. I invite you to join us and experience it for yourself!

I soaked up the Blue Supermoon in my favorite way, horseback 💞 It's been too long since I stepped away from my evening "mom" role and went for a night ride. My internal battery is now recharged, my nervous system is relaxed, and my heart is full of wonder and appreciation! Don't forget to fill your cup - take time to ride in the moonlight ✨️
