TNR programs are crucial for community cat management, and in the hot month of July is a particularly challenging month. HOPE Spay Neuter rose to the occasion with two successful TNR clinics, vaccinating and sterilizing 96 free-roaming cats, thanks to our dedicated volunteers! Hey kitties, welcome to a healthier and litter-free life!

In the animal world, everyone loves a happy tail, and today at HOPE, we have one to share. A lady brought in an 8-month-old kitten she had found two months ago, scared and lost. She made an appointment at HOPE and scheduled him for his neuter. Upon examination, our vet tech determined that he was already neutered and proceeded to scan for a microchip. Bingo! A call was made to the company, and the owner was called. She and her family was overjoyed that her kitty was found!
Please have your pets microchiped and properly registered with the correct contact information. It can make all the difference in the hopes that one day your lost pet will come back home!

As we welcome a new year full of HOPE, let us be grateful as we reflect of our past year of 2023! Another 2000 plus dogs and cats, puppies and kittens are now living happier and more healthier lives through the efforts of spay and neuter! HOPE's Kitty Cat Round-Up, Trap-Neuter-Return program provided services for 517 feral and free-roaming cats who live in our communities. We were blessed with new volunteers, new ideas and new energy! We were blessed with new friendships and new contributors to our ongoing mission of HOPE... Helping Over-Population End.
With appreciation and respect to our staff, our volunteers and our donors, who help us achieve another day of HOPE!

Each month, at HOPE Spay Neuter Clinic's Kitty Cat Roundup, cats from barns and feral colonies across the state are spayed and neutered, vaccinated and treated for all sorts of bangs and bruises.

When possible, caregivers who bring feral kitties to HOPE help cover the cost by donating $25 per cat to HOPE's Wildcat Fund, although the actual cost to HOPE is always more. Volunteers brush them, clean their ears and nestle them among warm socks during their recovery. Then, the folks who feed and care for them return them to their homes.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to HOPE during the GoodGiving Challenge and thank you also to our sponsor, Keeneland. If you haven't yet participated, please consider donating online at https://www.bggives.org/organization/hopespayneuter.

Today, from 9 am – 9 pm, every nonprofit with 50 or more donors of at least $25 will be entered in a drawing for one of three $2,500 prizes from the Bluegrass Community Foundation’s Endowment Challenge. Please join in and help us continue this important work.

During the holiday season, we at HOPE are reminded of our many blessings. Thanks to your donations, we are able to provide spay and neuter services for pets whose owners cannot afford even HOPE’s low prices, like Courage, who came all the way from Green County and sweet April, a Great Pyrenees from Lawrenceburg and Ariel, who arrived with her brother Sebastian from Danville.

Any donation made in memory or in honor of a person or pet goes directly into HOPE’s Oliver Rugby Fund to help cover expenses for clients who are unable to pay. Your gift will be listed in our newsletter and a card noting your donation will be sent to either a designated individual or family at your request. If you haven't yet participated, please consider donating online at https://www.bggives.org/organization/hopespayneuter.

The two matches today are 1) From 9 am to 11:59 am, the MacAdam Family Foundation will offer a $1 for $1 match for gifts up to $50. The pool is capped at $25,000, so log on early! 2) Following that, from Noon - 11:59 pm the Jenna and Matthew Mitchell Foundation is providing a $30,000 prize pool. The first 30 nonprofits that raise $3,000 (or more) through at least two donations will receive a $1,000 prize.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who has donated and to our sponsor, Keeneland, for supporting HOPE during this GoodGiving Challenge.

Calling all animal friends and rescue fanatics! Have you ever wondered what it’s like to volunteer at a spay and neuter clinic? Well now is your chance to find out. Hope Spay and Neuter Clinic in Versailles is in serious need of some devoted volunteers. No experience is necessary; all training will be provided. We need volunteers to help in surgery, in cat and dog recovery rooms, in the front office with scheduling, and with our landscaping. Clinic is one day a week and, depending on what you are interested in doing, some hours are flexible. Great experience for someone who might be interested in going into veterinary medicine or another animal related field. Call (859) 873-4673 to leave a message and one of our volunteers will get back with you. Twelve years of altering the cats and dogs of Kentucky, help us make it another 12 years!

Today, we’ll feature kittens Tiger and Callie from Salvisa, and sweet pup Heidi snuggling with her mom from Lexington. Their owners were able to pay the full cost of their care…just $35 each for the kittens’ spays and $65 for Heidi’s. We hear time and again from people who would not be able to have their dog or cat altered if it were not for HOPE’s low fees. Your donation makes it possible for us to keep these prices low.

12/04/2021

We always enjoy updating you on two of HOPE’s former ferals, Siddy Kitty and Chester. Both have moved on to earn fame as kitty ambassadors, traveling to various race tracks with owners Rusty and Sarah Arnold. Here, you’ll see Siddy Kitty with his equine friend and a VIDEO of Chester helping out in the barn at Keeneland this year.

The pets who come to HOPE Spay Neuter Clinic benefit from every dollar received, large and small. If you’re considering a large donation this year, today is the day! The Mitchell Family Foundation & the Lewis Bizzack Family Fund are partnering to offer a $50,000 “Fast Break Challenge”. Beginning at 9 a.m., the first 10 nonprofits to raise $5,000 win a $2,500 match. The next 25 to raise $2,500 win a $1,000 match.
