We are now taking a LIMITED amount of new clients. If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a client here at Denney Vet, please call and speak with the receptionist. We will take your name and add it to a list. After getting the records from your previous veterinary clinic and reviewing them, we will then call you when we are ready to add you as a client!

PLEASE NOTE: This is ONLY for pets who need routine yearly preventative care. We are unable to currently accept patients with ongoing medical issues until we are able to hire another veterinarian.

This is your last call for medication/food refills before our Fourth of July shut down! You need to call in your scripts TODAY for pickup tomorrow! When we close tomorrow at 5:30 we will not reopen again until July 8th!

It's Pollinator Week! We love them all, big and small!!

There are so many reasons to care about pollinators. These important species keep nature in balance and make food production possible. Unfortunately, many of them are in trouble due to habitat loss, pesticide use and other continued threats.

4th of July CLOSURE: Just as a reminder we are closed for the week of Fourth Of July. We will be closed from Saturday June 29 - July Sunday July 7th. We will reopen on July 8th at 8am.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR PETS MEDICATIONS & FOOD TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH TO GET YOU THROUGH UNTIL WE REOPEN.

Also, if your pet needs medication to get them through the fireworks, NOW is the time to call. Please don't wait until last minute as we may not be able to refill this med without an examination, and appointments are filling FAST.

EMERGENCY TRIAGE SERVICES

Denney Veterinary Service is proud to offer after-hours emergency veterinary triage to OUR CURRENT CLIENTS through video telehealth services. The VetTriage veterinarians will provide the same level of quality care you receive during normal business hours. They will triage your pet to assess if you are facing an emergency that requires immediate emergency care. If you do not need to go in, they will provide home care and monitoring instructions. In the event you need immediate assistance, VetTriage will coordinate your visit with the nearest emergency hospital.

If you choose to just head out to the VCA Emergency hospital, PLEASE CALL FIRST. They are not 24 hours/day currently due to the shortage of veterinarians. The next closest emergency vet is in Byron Center just south of Grand Rapids.

We have had multiple cases of severe upper respiratory disease in dogs over the course of the last week. These cases mostly seem to be dogs living in the town of Vicksburg. PLEASE make sure your dogs are vaccinated fully and take precautions to keep them away from other dogs with unknown vaccination history. Dog parks or going to areas where other dogs hang out is not a good idea right now.

If your pet has ANY cough at all, even minor, please inform us BEFORE arriving at the vet clinic so we can properly handle your appointment and keep your pet away from any other dogs that may come in. We will directly put you in a room, and if it is feasible, please carry your dog in. Even if you think the cough is small and not a big deal, we need to know BEFORE you arrive.

If you schedule a dental in the month of February, March, or April you will get a FREE 14ct bag of Oravet Dental Chews!

Oravet has a special enzyme in them to stop the bacteria and plaque from sticking to your pets teeth.

Call to get on the schedule today if your pets mouth needs a little refreshing! (Requirements: current patient, exam in last 6 months, up to date on Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, and heartworm test).

January 11th - 18th

Our doctor, Dr. Burr, will be out of the office from January 11th-January 18th for a veterinary conference. The State of Michigan requires every doctor to get a certain amount of continuing education credits to renew licensing. We realize this may cause an inconvenience for some of you as you may have sick pets or need medication refills. This is a requirement for Dr. Burr.

If you have a sick pet, you can always utilize the closest animal emergency hospital. If you need medication refills: we will be open for requesting, refilling, and picking up medications as long as your pet has refills on their prescriptions. If you do not have refills, there is a chance we will not be able to renew this prescription until the doctor gets back on the 19th. Please plan ahead and check your prescriptions to make sure you have enough to get you through until the 19th.

PLEASE for the safety of your pet and others keep your dog on a leash the entire time they are on the premises. Your dog may be well behaved, but we may have another dog in the clinic that is not. Seeing your dog off leash can set off a "not so well behaved" dog.

Also, if you are bringing in a cat, cat carriers are required. Again, we have animals in and out of the clinic all day, and cats can be spooked very easily and either take off or bite those who are holding them.

We had a dog brought into the clinic today that seems to be missing her family.
She is an adult female who was found near UV Ave and 28th. She has no collar and no microchip. She has been taken to Kalamazoo Animal Control. Please help us find her family.

We had a great week, LOTS of food, games and prizes for the staff. A special thank you to Covetrus, Idexx, Zoetis, and Penn Vet for your generous donations of meals this week! Thanks for making it a really great week for the staff!

You must use a different costume and photo from the previous years submissions.
