Environmental enrichment and mental stimulation are just important as physical exercise for dogs and cats. Tonight we attempted to "enrich" Meatball with a food puzzle. We sure hope you have better success with your enrichment activities than we did! What are some of your enrichment favorites?

Capri Knee Surgery Two-Weeks Post-op
This little cutie is our friend Capri. Capri had a torn ACL in her left knee and is currently two weeks post-op. She has been a wonderful patient and is doing amazing during the recovery period. Wish her a speedy recovery!
Dr. Scheider was nominated by his wife to participate in the ALS ice bucket challenge by his wife. He decided to nominate Dr. Fish so we decided to make this a fun Friday evening event. Charmaine and Hayley were previously nominated so they joined in the fun! Have a great weekend!
Let's start with a disease that I think everyone has heard of -- Heartworm Disease! This video is of a microscopic view of a drop of dog blood and shows an immature heartworm wriggling around. This pup was diagnosed several weeks ago at our hospital, so yes, we do have heartworm disease in this area.
Pitty Love Foster Video
This Friday I had the honor of being the keynote speaker at the 2nd Annual Pitty Love Affair, a beneficial dinner for Pitty Love Rescue. During my presentation I shared a video of all the dogs within the rescue that are still in need of forever homes. This video demonstrates the tremendous transformation that has occurred from when these dogs were initially taken off the streets or pulled from shelters and what they have become because of the care provided by their foster families. All the dogs in this video are available for adoption. If you are interested in adopting or becoming a foster family (there are eleven puppies that will need foster homes soon) please visit their website http://www.pittyloverescue.org/ and fill out the appropriate forms.
