Now that the Track & Field events have kicked off in Paris, LITTLE RICKY was dreaming about participating in his own version of the games - "Olympicats." His dream event - sprints. 🏃♂️
As you can see, today he worked on his technique this afternoon which he calls "quick paws in the lawn." Like all kitties in training, he knows that it is important to hydrate after a good workout, followed by a long catnap to recharge.
We think that he definitely has a shot at the gold medal. 🏅 After all, he is a natural cathlete! 🐈

The lovely LADY JESSICA is certainly having fun today. This spirited grey tuxie spent some time in our Pet Pride foster care network with her kittens. 😸 As the story goes, all of her little ones have been adopted and now, this super playful sweetie is waiting patiently for her chance to find her perfect home. SMUCKERS was practicing her selfies yesterday getting ready for our Second Annual Feline Photo Fest! It's your chance to make your kitty famous, have some fun, and have your cat be named our 2025 Pet Pride calendar cover cat! 😺
The contest begins tomorrow morning at 6 am and entries will be accepted through August 15th. Submit the best photo of your kitty for just $10 per entry. Have more than one kitty? Feel free to enter each one of your feline friends to participate in the contest. Full contest rules can be found at the link below, but here are a few guidelines:
🐾 Only cats and kittens will be accepted. No humans allowed
🐾 Please submit photos that are high resolution (300 dpi and jpeg format)
🐾 Multiple cats in a single photo is okay
The real fun begins on August 16th when voting is opened for family, friends, and everyone you know. 😉 Each vote is just $1 so you can stuff the ballot box for your favorite kitty! Voting closes on September 15th at midnight.

It's National Kitten Day! 😸
For the second consecutive year, we traveled to The Addison of Fairways in Victor for a kitten therapy day with the residents. HOUDINI, MIGHTY, LYRIC, HANGE, and IZZY snuggled, ran, purred, and charmed everyone this morning. Each attendee was able to play and hold each kitten while smiles filled the room.
The general consensus was that we should visit with kittens every week. While we aren't able to visit every week, we are planning another kitten therapy day in the early fall.

Chloe had a tough time cleaning Kitten Kingdom this morning because she was thoroughly distracted by this adorable kitten who felt the need to "help" her. She shared that he certainly uplifted her Monday mood with his cuteness overload. 😍

Kitten Kingdom was overflowing with excitement today and visitors were treated to 30+ kittens playing, running, and snuggling. However, we think that the best part of the day was when PUFFER and senior kitty, JELLYBEAN, were sent to their forever homes. ❤️

School is out, warm temperatures are here to stay, and great things are happening at Pet Pride! June highlights included:
🐾 an amazing crew from RG & E and its parent company, Avangrid, who spent the day at the shelter cleaning, assembling cat trees, painting, and weeding the gardens
🐾 welcoming 45 felines into our care
🐾 receiving some wonderful donations from the folks at Evans Bank after holding a month-long donation drive
🐾 matching 71 kitties with their forever families ❤️
We're so grateful for our community connections, Pet Pride staff, volunteers, adopters who continue to make Pet Pride the best place to be a part of. We can't wait to see what the second half of 2024 will bring! Just take a look at BURT and his new parents on adoption day. There's nothing better!

Our kitties have been really workin' their looks this week. Take a look at this beautiful ray of sunshine named TANG. He decided to go with a very formal bow tie since most people are wearing their "Sunday best" today. Our staff and volunteers describe TANG as a gentle, sweet cat who would love a forever family that is just as a laid-back as he is. A home where he can peek out a window to watch the birds and a cozy perch where he can take a catnap in the sun also top his list of must haves!
