***Dog food Recall- Victor Dog food***
The FDA has just revealed the details of a warning letter sent to Mid America Pet Food, dated November 22, 2024.
The warning is in reference to follow-up inspections carried out by FDA investigators of the company’s manufacturing facility in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
These inspections were made after Mid America experienced three recalls in September, October, and November last year, when Salmonella was detected in certain lots of Victor dog foods.
The FDA stated in the letter that these foods had been linked to human illnesses: “A total of seven people from seven states were infected with the outbreak strain from January 14, 2023 to August 19, 2023, and one person was hospitalized. Six of the affected people were children under one year of age.”
During the inspections, which were carried out in January and February this year, the FDA collected environmental samples from surfaces in the facility which tested positive for Salmonella, “indicating that your facility may have three resident strains of Salmonella: Salmonella Rissen, Salmonella Minnesota, and Salmonella Mbandaka.”
The warning letter also stated: “During these inspections FDA Investigators found evidence of significant violations of the Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Food for Animals requirements.

Heavenly Father,

We gather here today with hearts full of gratitude, lifting up this moment of celebration to You. Lord, we thank You for the blessing of our Hillcrest Animal Hospital family, for the dedication, compassion, and skill that each staff member brings to this place. Without their unwavering commitment, we could not serve our clients, their beloved animals, or You as we are called to do.

We thank You, Lord, for the hands that work tirelessly to heal, the minds that solve problems with wisdom, and the hearts that offer comfort and care. Bless each person here for their unique contribution to this practice and the lives they touch each day. May they always feel the joy and fulfillment that comes from making a difference.

Lord, we also thank You for the clients who trust us and the animals who remind us of Your creation’s beauty. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve them, and we ask for Your continued guidance in our work.

As we share this feast together, we ask Your blessing over this food, over our fellowship, and over the year ahead. May this celebration remind us that, through Your love and grace, all things are possible.

Our pets don’t need to celebrate Thanksgiving because they are thankful every day. If you choose to feed your furry friend something from the table please keep in mind Pancreatitis is very painful on the belly & the wallet. Play it safe & give extra love and snuggles 🐶♥️😻
