04/07/2023

Laser therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or cold laser therapy, is a non-invasive treatment method used in veterinary medicine to promote healing and reduce pain and inflammation. The therapy involves the use of a low-power laser to stimulate tissue repair and improve circulation in the affected area.

Laser therapy can be used to treat a variety of conditions in animals, including:

➡️Arthritis and joint pain: Laser therapy can help reduce inflammation and swelling and improve joint mobility in animals with arthritis.
➡️Wound healing: Laser therapy can speed up the healing process of wounds and post-surgical incisions.
➡️Skin conditions: Laser therapy can help reduce inflammation and itching associated with skin conditions such as hot spots and allergies.
➡️Tissue regeneration: Laser therapy can help promote tissue repair and regeneration in animals suffering from muscle and tendon injuries.

For information on laser therapy and other rehabilitation options for your furry friend, please call our office at 361.573.3572.

Today is National K9 Veterans Day!
This day is set aside to commemorate the service and sacrifices of American military and working dogs throughout history. It was on March 13, 1942, that the Army began training for its new War Dog Program, also known as the "K-9 Corps," according to American Humane, marking the first time that dogs were officially a part of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Today's military dogs are valued as important members of their military units and even have their own retirement ceremonies, awards and medals and memorial services.

Thank you for your service🐾🇺🇸

"Just as in humans, cats often develop arthritis as they age. Arthritis occurs when the cartilage between bones deteriorates. This makes joints less flexible causing stiffness and pain with movement, and sometimes even while at rest if the deterioration is accompanied by severe inflammation."
If your cat is acting a bit off, there might be a reason for it. Heed the signs & take warning. It could mean they are actually experiencing symptoms of arthritis. Learn more at bit.ly/31OUlTL

Excess weight can reduce your pet’s life expectancy by more than two years. Keeping your pet at a healthy weight lowers his/her risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, respiratory disease, kidney disease, and some forms of cancer.

It can also reduce the risks of injury to bones, joints and muscles that are associated with excess weight. If your pet has arthritis, keeping him/her at a healthy weight makes it easier to manage the discomfort associated with joint pain.

Maintaining your pet's weight is much easier with this article from the >>https://bit.ly/yourpetshealthyweight
