Today is National K9 Veterans Day!
This day is set aside to commemorate the service and sacrifices of American military and working dogs throughout history. It was on March 13, 1942, that the Army began training for its new War Dog Program, also known as the "K-9 Corps," according to American Humane, marking the first time that dogs were officially a part of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Today's military dogs are valued as important members of their military units and even have their own retirement ceremonies, awards and medals and memorial services.

Meet Eduardo! Back in August, Eduardo was surrendered after he was brought in with multiple fractures due to being ran over. A second chance at life was given to him thanks to Megan Driver, owner of Saving Animal Lives 24/7. She made sure Eduardo got the surgery and treatment that he needed. Dr. Mark was able to successfully repair all of Eduardo's fractures, allowing him to make a full recovery. He has since been adopted by an amazing family and is now fully recovered! We are so thankful to be a part of his story, and so thrilled with his recovery.
