Dog training field trip! ☀️🐕
This past weekend, Disco and I took to the trails of Georgia’s Skidaway Island State Park to practice our beginner obedience commands and upped the ante into more intermediate skill level. Disco can sit on command and do a basic stay, but could he perform them with distractions around like people laughing, walking, chatting - with active children nearby, and among other dogs? We saw some beautiful coastal landscapes and had some productive practice sessions, but we have more practice time to log in to solidify his reactivity training and exposure. I’ll take pictures of Disco meeting people and other dogs on our next trip!

*Tonight we are praying for our friend Zoey, the English Springer Spaniel, who was hit by a car this weekend. Thanking God that she was ok. Just has some healing to do. 🙏

We enjoyed our little kennel tree this year! One of our day-play dog’s dad offered to do some Christmas photography, and we enjoyed using the photos to decorate our tree! We didn’t advertise the photo opportunity; we simply wouldn’t have had the room to offer it to the public! So we offered it to the dogs who were boarding or at day-play on Wednesday, December 18th. Next year, we may offer this opportunity community-wide. We thank the dad of Atticus the Great Pyrenees for sharing his photography talent with us! ❤️🐾

Elio & Ella, the two brown dogs in this video, once could hardly be in the same room with other dogs. They were highly reactive and could at times be aggressive in their anxiety. Over time and numerous visits with us, they have developed into dogs who can enjoy socializing with others. Here they are enjoying a romp with my dogs Biscuit & Remy. We are so proud of how far Elio & Ella have come! 🐕🐕
