Meet Derek! Before Derek arrived at AWL, he was living in a home with lots of other cats. Due to the conditions inside the home, it was in Derek’s and his previous owner’s best interest for him and his feline friends to be brought into our care. Going through such a big change was scary for Derek, but he slowly started showing more and more of his playful personality. Now, you can typically find Derek playing with his favorite toy or loving all over staff and volunteers. Funfetti is having some Friday fun with one of the enrichment boxes sent to us from @catamazingtoy! He loves figuring out how to solve the puzzle to get as many treats as possible.
Just like your cats at home, shelter cats need playtime to help prevent stress and have some fun! Plus it’s a great way for us to bond with our feline friends, and can even be a vital tool to help shy cats build trust and become more confident.
