As a small local rescue, our group of incredible volunteers work diligently to provide a safe place for our furry friends to land and to ensure that they receive the best food and veterinary care possible. We do not receive taxpayer funds, large grants, or subsidies that larger rescues and shelters do, and this makes us even more reliant on your generous donations.
Every bit of money we receive goes directly towards food and supplies for our fosters, as well as vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, and other vital services like emergency dental care for our senior pups Muñeca and Herb or corrective eye surgeries for Hello Moto and Cookie or leg amputations for kitties like Peggy, just to name a few.
This past year alone we have assisted with rescuing and transporting animals from kitten and puppy mills and hoarding situations, provided lifesaving FIP treatment for several kittens, and helped transport and find homes for cats in need from Kuwait and Hawaii through local rescue partners. We also run an informal pet food pantry and help local all volunteer rescues with food and litter donations that we receive through our partners. We have provided intensive neonatal care for kittens and palliative care for senior pets who might have otherwise passed away alone in a shelter or on the street. We also help support local stray and feral animals by providing food and arranging TNR services around Northern Virginia. The more donations we receive, the more animals we are able to help this holiday season and beyond.
