🚨Update on Smokey

We are so filled with gratitude to those who contributed for the vet care for Smokey. Your generosity really warms our hearts. We can’t thank you enough. We would also like to send a big thank you to A Cat and Dog's Friend Rescue Inc. for their generous assistance in helping with Smokey’s care. It’s wonderful when we can all work together for the greater well being of the animals.

Smokey was seen by the vet yesterday morning. He had a long day. It was confirmed that he does have pillow foot on all 4 paws which will require long term care. They ran labs on him he’s also anemic and has low albumin. Other labs looked pretty good. His combo test was negative. He received capstar and a topical for fleas. He also received a convenia and depo shot for the pillow foot and inflammation.
He was neutered given a rabies shot and FVRCP.

Smokey is being well cared for by one of our team members where he will stay until after Christmas then will go to another team member where he will live out the rest of his life.
When he got back to his crate and his box with his blanket picture below he looked so relieved to be there. Please keep him in your thoughts.

Again we want to thank you for being such a caring community.

Any funds left over will go to Smokey’s long term care or another cat in need of medical care.

Cutie patootie, Stormi, is the very definition of relaxed. ☺️ He is a playful, affectionate, silly little guy and a velcro cat extraordinaire.

Stormi hasn’t gotten much attention, but he is an utterly wonderful kitty. He loves hanging out with his fellow kitties and would do well in an active home with tons of playtime and cuddles.

Like all Persian/long haired cats, Stormi requires regular grooming, which must be a consideration in adopting him. But just look at him, he’s completely worth it! 🥰

Our distinguished gentleman/court jester, Ramadi, is a true character. He came to us all the way from Kuwait to find his forever home and live out his dreams of a happy and loving family. Ramadi is a tripod kitty, but you would never know it by the way he climbs and plays fearlessly. He is a wonderful, sweet, silly companion just waiting to meet you.

Our newest little snuggle bunny, Jingles, is getting ready for the holiday season feasts 🤣😍

Jingles was found by one of our awesome volunteers when he was only a few days old. We were able to take him in and he is now in the care of our resident neonatal expert, Sara, aka 🙌🏻

As you can imagine, unexpected miracles like Jingle can be a little pricey, so we are asking for donations to help us continue to get him the best care possible to set him up for success. Every little bit helps, and we are always grateful for anything you can spare 🫶🏻

Unbelievable that our diabolically adorable kitto, Stormi, hasn’t been scooped up yet. He is a sweetie pie all the way from our partner rescue in Kuwait. He’s a little timid at first but he blossoms into the silliest, cutest, most playful boy around. Stormi is a fan of spending time with his humans, and once he feels comfortable, he’s super affectionate. He does great with other cats and has the patience to be a good fit for a family with polite children 🥰

Plus his coat is just. gorgeous. 😍

Our guy, Tony the tabby, is a little sweetie pie with lots of love. Tabby’s get overlooked but they are wonderful companions who love their humans fiercely. They’re intelligent, playful, and friendly. Plus, with a short coat, they’re lower maintenance and generally very healthy.

Tony is the consummate tabby. Give this guy a chance and he will be your bestie for life 🥰

Great resource for federal workers in need!

Are you a federal employee who has been affected by the government shutdown? We want to help! We will be providing free pet supplies to help ensure pets stay with their families during this challenging time.

📍 Maryland SPCA, 3300 Falls Road
🗓️ Sunday, October 26th from 12-2PM

We will have:
🐾 Dog kibble
🐾 Crates (various sizes)
🐾 Cat trees and scratching posts
🐾 Cat litter
🐾 Grooming supplies (brushes, shampoo, etc.)
🐾 Miscellaneous pet supplies (leashes, collars, bowls, toys, etc.)
