Wow, it has it been a VERY long few days but all for a life changing experience for NINETEEN dogs and pups needing help!!

Started in Independence and went down to Corbin KY(3 hours) picked up this beautiful girl along with her ten 6 week old puppies. Then on over to Eubank (1 1/2 hours) grabbed this black and white momma with seven 12 week old pups. Now the real journeys starts! We started the trek to Luray, VA (8.5 hours) The pups were so well behaved despite being cramped in kennels for the very long ride. They were beyond happy to get out and stretch those legs when we arrived! Me too!! From this point they were checked over and sent to two seperate foster families for the weekend and will move on to Richmond to a rescue in the morning. Scooted on over to False Cape State Park in VA Beach( 4 hours) ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ btw, to relax the day before heading home (10 hours) I’m beyond exhausted but enjoy the pics of all these lives that were saved!!

One set of these dogs were living in a kennel and one set were simply running loose. Please spay and neuter and if you have any ability to help, do it! Foster, donate, transport, volunteer.. rescue works when we all work together❤️ It takes a village!

Matting happens…

I know some groomers go straight to shaving a dog, and sometimes it’s all that can be done but if it’s possible to get around that without hurting or causing stress to the dog, I will do my best!

I appreciate the humor in this so much. Most people aren’t as easy going 🤣

Looking for a sweet cuddly addition to your family? I I do not have these babies at the shop yet yet but I wanted to see if there was any interest. They are around 11 weeks old. Kittens are best in pairs!❤️ They will be fixed and have received their first vaccinations. These kittens come from three hours south where there is not a lot of help offered to animals. I am working hard to make sure mommas are spayed out of my own pocket. A rehoming fee of $50 will apply to help me recover a small amount of the cost for vetting, travel, housing and food. If you have any questions, please ask! Also, any questions about rescue or how you can help, I’m ALWAYS here!

This is a GREAT rescue to support❤️

Volunteering in rescue can be very rewarding and very discouraging.

We see the worst of humanity. Daily we see the results of neglect, abuse and hate. The calls for help never stop. Rescue is a 24/7 job.

We see the best of humanity. We work with some amazing people. We see love, caring and compassion every day. We find friendship and camaraderie with those sharing our mission.

We have some devastating lows.
We have some amazingly wonderful highs. Rescue is a rollercoaster of emotions. We never know what each day will bring. We never know if it will be a great day or a horrible day.

Many of you are familiar with the story of Fotis. Last April, Fotis experienced the worst of humanity. He was neglected. He was abused. He was intentionally set on fire.

The evolution of Fotis over the past year from victim to beacon of hope is remarkable. He helped heal all of our hearts. This is why we do it. This is why we put our hearts and souls into healing and helping these animals.

Fotis is just one animal, there are so many more still in need of our help.
We need your help to help them.

6 months! That's how long Miss Nubbins has spent waiting to find true love with a family. She has not had a single person inquire or apply for her. Let's change that!
Nubbins came to the shelter with a broken tail that could not be saved. Her tail required amputation and she was left with a little bunny-like tail nub, hence her name! She can be a little shy towards strangers, but very sweet once she knows you. Nubbins needs slow introductions with other cats, but does get along with them. She would do best in a home with no kids under 5, as she has a sassy side to her. Mouse toys are her favorite to play with and and looooves catnip! Nubbins is around 2 years old and ready to meet you in our Cat 2 room.

We are located at 3606 Elida Road, Lima. All available cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. Kittens are $75, and cats 1yr and older are $60.

Covid has put such a damper on so many things. One is the amount of interaction I get to have with some of the most important people in my life, my clients. I try to show my appreciation but just in case I haven’t said it lately, I appreciate all of you in a way that you may never fully understand. I have been doing this for a long time and for most of your dogs, many years. You have made it possible for me to provide a pretty awesome life for my girls. Thank you❤️
