GOOD MEWS MONDAY!!! Congrats to our four kitties that went home last week! Pumpkin, Champagne, Sparkles and Honey we are so happy for you and thankful that your forever family picked YOU!

Pumpkin was found by a kind person and was lucky enough to land in one of our amazing foster homes! Pumpkin was quickly ready for adoption and only spend a day at PetSmart, meeting her family at our February adoption event! Talk about a match made in heaven, just look at Pumpkin’s face in her adoption photo, it says it all!!!

Champagne and Sparkles were discovered by a kind neighbor after they were abandoned in an apartment. Their cries for help were answered and they made their way to ARC. They met their family at PetSmart when they were looking for a bonded pair, it doesn’t get sweeter than these two girls! This mother-daughter duo have been through a lot together and are so happy to be able to share their new family!

Honey was found as an orphaned kitten on a neighborhood street. Lucky for her, her rescuers were able to foster her! She was in pretty rough shape to start, but with lots of love and care, she blossomed very quickly! Honey is as sweet as her name and is going to love her new home! She’ll have a blast with her new kitty brother and loving human family!

A huge thank you to last week’s adopters, welcome to the ARC family!!! We really appreciate all who adopt from us. Feel free to drop a picture in the comments and let us know how your furbaby is doing since being adopted. We love seeing all our former residents in their forever homes!

GOOD MEWS MONDAY!!! Congrats to our TEN kitties that went home last week! Finn, Heidi, Hannah, Wendy, Duncan, Baby, Sporty, Ginger, CC, and Riley we are so happy for you and thankful that your forever family picked YOU!

Finn fathered quite a few kittens before he was trapped and neutered by ARC. We expected him to be feral (or at least not interested in a home), when he came in for vetting. However, he immediately let us know that he was very interested in the comforts of a loving home! Although he charmed everyone who met him, it took some time for him to find his forever home. It was worth the wait though! Now, his mom reports that he is a super social kitty who continues to charm visitors and he is the talk of the community!

Heidi and Hannah were rescued by one of our amazing volunteers from an abandoned building. They were not quite sure they could trust humans, so it took some time in different foster homes to build their trust in humans. They finally came around, and moved into a room at ARC… where they met their family! Hannah, the more outgoing of the two, really laid it on thick and her family knew they were the kitties for them. Heidi takes cues from Hannah, so she’s settling in and will soon be soliciting snuggles from her loving family!

Wendy was found in the parking lot of a local fast-food place (can you guess which one? Let us know in the comments!). She was alone and scared, so she went straight to one of our best foster homes! She slowly learned to trust people and her foster family did so well, she soon found herself at the PetSmart Adoption Center! This is where her family saw her and fell in love! She is still a little shy, but an absolute sweetheart and her family saw that in her and is now so excited to have her in their home!

Duncan was found as a stray and was too sweet to send back to the streets after being neutered. He would “talk” to us all day long and let us know that he really wanted to find his forever home! Duncan got his chance to go to PetSmart and didn’t waste any time, he landed a wonderful home where he is the center of attention and can soak up all the love!

Baby and her sisters (The Spice Girls litter) came to ARC as young kittens and landed in a wonderful foster home! They all went to PetSmart to find their forever families and they knocked it out of the park! This popular crew had the applications pouring in! Posh went home last week, and Baby and her other two sisters all went home this week! Baby gets to share her home with a loving human family and two other kitty siblings!

Sporty (another Spice Girl kitty) found her family at PetSmart. They recently moved to the area and are ready to add a kitty to their family! She bonded quickly with “dad” and the rest is history! Sporty is a fun-loving kitty who enjoys people of all ages, other cats and dogs. She’ll love her new home, human and furry family members!

Ginger (the last Spice Girl kitty) also found her family at PetSmart. She is super lovable and adores her new mom! She is going to love being the center of attention and soaking up all the love for herself! We are so happy these girls all found their homes so quickly!

CC was living at a training area on Fort Knox, she and some of her kittens were trapped and fixed. However, for their safety, they could not go back out to the area they were living, so ARC took them in. They were all thought to be feral, or at least not interested in being an indoor kitty, so the plan was to acclimate them to ARC and then give them the opportunity to live freely with our other kitties. CC surprised us all, not only with how friendly she was, but by how quickly she trusted us and soon even strangers. She even got the chance to go to PetSmart, where she met her family! They spent a little time with her and realized she was the newest member of the family!

Riley came to us from Operation CatSnip after he and another kitty (Turbo-adopted!) tested positive for the feline leukemia virus (FeLV). Since we have a dedicated room to house FeLV+ kitties, we took them in. Riley is a sweet boy who loves the attention and affection of people. He also enjoys the company of his furry siblings in his forever home! We are so happy to see Riley and other FeLV+ kitties find their forever homes because they are the absolute sweetest cats!

400+ shelters and animal rescue organizations in Kentucky. ALL of them full to bursting. Not enough homes for all these unwanted pets and breeder overflows. Non-animal rescue retailers are being called by people begging stores to accept unwanted pets for sale.
The pet overpopulation problem in Kentucky hasn't been this bad since the 1990s.
It's time for us to make a difference and save lives. ALL of us.

Sigh. The "APT Craze" is sweeping social media. Even other animal rescue shelters are getting in on it. (Koreans spell APT, slang for Apartment, "Ah-Pay-Tay" which will help understand the lyrics). Penny is about to pull her hair out from these videos everywhere. Save Penny. Go to our website and find some pet a Forever Home NOW.

GOOD MEWS MONDAY!!! Congrats to our six kitties and one pup that went home last week! Waffles, Biscuit, Sherman, Posh, Helix, Jellybean and Tyler we are so happy for you and thankful that your forever family picked YOU!

Waffles and Biscuit are brothers who came to ARC as young kittens with the rest of their litter. They got lucky and grew up in one of our amazing foster homes! They are a bonded pair and have been waiting for their purrfect family to find them. This dynamic duo has it all, purrsonality, playfulness and just plain lovable. They will bring it all to their loving home! This family knows that two kittens are better than one!

Sherman was found as a stray in a barn and brought into ARC. When he turned out to be the sweetest and silliest boy, we decided he could be so much more than a barn cat! He would steal the hearts of anyone who met him, but for some reason he was passed over for adoption time and again, but his patience has paid off now. This playful, sweet boy will now be the star of the show in his new home and we couldn’t be happier for him!

Posh is the first of her litter to find her home! She and her sisters (The Spice Girls litter) came to ARC as young kittens and landed in a wonderful foster home! They all went to PetSmart in hopes of finding their family, but Posh was not a fan of the environment. She came back to ARC and has really enjoyed her roommates in our Romper Room and “helping” us keep their space clean and tidy! Her family fell in love with her immediately and now she gets to have two dog siblings and maybe even take a trip to work with her mom every once in a while!

Jellybean and Helix came to ARC each with their respective litters and to different foster homes. They got to know each other at PetSmart, but both ended up with a cold and came back to ARC for treatment. They lived together in a cage while they were treated for their sniffles and quickly became best buds! Once they got feeling better, they really enjoyed playing together and just having one another close. Their family spotted Jellybean as a possible fit in the home, but upon learning about their connection, decided to adopt both! Did we mention that two kittens are better than one?!

Tyler was at ARC previously and adopted out seven years ago. Unfortunately, his family experienced big changes and could no longer keep Tyler. He came back to ARC and we did our best to welcome him and make him comfortable, but it was clear he was stressed and just wanted the love and companionship of a loving home. Luckily, his new family saw our plea on social media and opened up their home to him! He made himself at home immediately and won the hearts of not only his new mom, but his new dog brother! When we went over to complete the adoption paperwork, he made it very clear that he was home and had NO interest in coming back to ARC with us! Don’t worry Tyler, you are home now!

A huge thank you to last week’s adopters, welcome to the ARC family!!! We really appreciate all who adopt from us. Feel free to drop a picture in the comments and let us know how your furbaby is doing since being adopted. We love seeing all our former residents in their forever homes!
