Please help Sherman and his friends stay happy and healthy with a generous donation of cat/kitten food! Thanks as always for the wonderful support, you all are THE BEST!

GOOD MEWS MONDAY!!!
1. Shasta
2. Harper
3. Malijah
4. Spade
Shasta was found as a spicy orphaned kitten and she came to ARC where she learned that people were nice and even fun! She didn’t waste any time finding her family! Her dad was looking for a companion and Shasta made sure she was the one! Shasta is going to enjoy being the center of attention, getting all the loves and play time for herself!
Harper came to ARC after her caregiver unexpectedly passed away. She was very confused and nervous when she got to us, but it didn’t take her long to realize that ARC is a pretty fun place! She met her new family not too long after arriving at ARC and she was again frightened of all the new changes, but they gave her lots of time and patience to earn her trust, and the next thing we knew, she was smitten with her new family!
Malijah and Spade came to ARC on different paths, but became best buds as soon as they were paired together! Malijah was rescued from a pallet at Home Depot, she didn’t make it easy on her rescuers, but they finally got her safely out of the pallet and into the hands of an ARC employee. She was sweet, but very lonely. So, when Spade arrived at ARC a few days later when a kind person found him on her porch, we jumped at the chance to give them both a shot at a wonderful home AND a best friend. We hoped the two would enjoy each other’s company, but did not expect them to bond so tightly! They were inseparable after the first day and luckily, they found their purrfect home to spend together!
Congrats to our three kitties and one pup that went home last week! Shasta, Harper, Malijah and Spade we are so happy for you and thankful that your forever family picked YOU! Enjoy your happurrly ever after!!!
Our foster homes are a critical aspect of our mission to save lives and provide homeless animals with the appropriate care they need while they are with us. Fostering kittens, cats and dogs allows us to take in more homeless animals that need us! If you are interested in becoming a part of our wonderful, life-saving foster network, please don’t hesitate to reach out, we will provide any necessary training, supplies, etc. to help you and your foster pets be successful!
Also, a large number of cats we take in come in as a result of our TNR program. This is another key component to helping stray and community kitties have a better life, even if they are not fit for adoption, just being spayed/neutered and vaccinated makes life as a community cat much safer for them. FOSTERING AND TRAPPING SAVES LIVES and WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! If you are interested in fostering and/or joining our TNR team, please reach out to us!

We really appreciate all who adopt from us. The Animal Refuge Center wouldn't be able to do any of this without the love and support we receive from our community. If you've recently adopted from us, drop a picture in the comments of this post and let us know how your new baby is settling in. We love seeing all our former residents in their forever homes and it makes our day!
ARC would also like to thank everyone who shares our posts and helps us in getting the word out. It really does make a difference and we are saving lives together! We hope you're having a good day and we look forward to seeing you again next week, when we will have some more Good Mews.
Bring home YOUR Best Friend today. They all need our love. ❤
http://animalrefugecenter.org/
Your new Best Friend is waiting for you to bring them home.
What's today??? International Cat Day!!! Simone just found out!
Huge thank you to Boy Scout Troop 488 and prospective Eagle Scout David, for organizing and executing the project to rebuild our chicken coop! The Scouts replaced the chicken wire sides with stronger (hopefully goat-proof) wire fencing, built and installed a new door and added more reinforcement to strengthen the structure. So far, the goats are staying out! We may be able to house chickens again soon. Thank you Eagle Scout David and Troop 488!
Petunia update! She is getting more comfortable in our farm yard and is venturing out of her safe barn! She is making friends with the goats and Pumba. She LOVES food and is being very spoiled!
GREAT comic strip. And we've all done this. Admit it.
To continue from yesterday's rerun, this strip from 2 years ago shows that I did not last LONG in saying "no" to the cats.
It is now THEIR house, I just get to live there in exchange for food and scritches. lol
GOOD MEWS MONDAY!!!
1. Honey
2. Mandarin
3. April
4. Jacques
Honey and Mandarin were born in an ARC employee’s bathroom moments after their momma, Clementine, was discovered VERY pregnant and brought inside. The new family was quickly moved into a longer term foster home, where they had the purrfect environment to thrive! Honey and Mandarin knew a good thing when they saw it, so they started working on their foster family early, and it worked! These two got to stay put in their lovely home and are now permanent family members, just look at that happy family!
April and Jacques came to ARC on different paths, but ended up at PetSmart together! These two were sharing a PetSmart “apartment” with other kittens, but seemed to really be taking to each other. Their family saw them and knew they just met their newest family members! We are so glad that their family knows that two kittens are better than one, and so are April and Jacques!!!
Congrats to our four kitties that went home last week! Honey, Mandarin, April and Jacques we are so happy for you and thankful that your forever family picked YOU! Enjoy your happurrly ever after!!!

GOOD MEWS MONDAY!!!
This week’s Good Mews is a special one! Not only are we celebrating the pets that went home last week, but today is ARC’s 35th Anniversary!!! Happy Birthday ARC!
1. Beau
2. Glenn
3. Tim
4. Copper
5. Basil
6. Monty
Beau was found with his siblings without their mom to take care of them. They were very small and needed lots of TLC, luckily they found themselves in one of our most experienced foster homes! Beau met his family at a PetSmart Adoption Event and the rest is history! He now has two kitty sisters and a loving human family that absolutely adores him!
Glenn was found as a single orphaned kitten. He was lucky enough to live in a foster home until he was old enough to be neutered and vaccinated. He didn’t even get to PetSmart before his family met him and fell in love! Glenn is an absolute doll who shows his gratitude through love and silly kitten antics!
Tim and Copper both came to ARC on different paths, but forged a friendship as roommates! Tim was rescued with some other kitties (Faith is still available!) from an abandoned building. He was shy at first, but with the help of Copper and his other roommates, he started to trust us and show how sweet he is! Copper was found as a stray and brought in by a caring person. Unfortunately, the resident kitties did not appreciate his presence, so he came to ARC. Copper is a pretty amazing kitty, and it took him quite a while to find his forever home, but I’m sure if we asked him, it was worth the wait! Now Copper and Tim get to share their home with each other, their dog and human family members!
Basil and Monty came to ARC when their caregiver passed away. They were very confused and scared, but Basil started showing us his sweet side. Unfortunately, he never fully trusted us or felt comfortable inside. Monty was always terrified of us and his surroundings, so in their best interests we sought out an alternative home for them. These two boys are going to have a large farm with several barns and other buildings to call home! We hope that with time, they will learn to trust their humans and truly enjoy their home!
Congrats to our eight kitties that went home last week! Beau, Glenn, Copper, Tim, Honey, Mandarin, Monty and Basil we are so happy for you and thankful that your forever family picked YOU! Enjoy your happurrly ever after!!!

GOOD MEWS MONDAY!!!
1. Lulu
2. Clementine
Lulu was surrendered to ARC when her caregiver could no longer care for her. She didn’t waste time showing us how loving and sweet she is! She did however rule the roost so to speak with other kitties. She is a bossy girl, who doesn’t hide her feelings about things. She bonded well with Copper at PetSmart and we saw a new side of Lulu! When her family met her, they were looking for a companion for them, but also their younger kitty at home. We didn’t know for sure how she would do with their kitty, but she absolutely adored her people! Once she got home, she took some time to get to know her new kitty companion (and get him in check!), but now they are buddies and she is doing great in her home!
Clementine was a very pregnant homeless kitty who found the right person! She was noticed and brought inside since she was very pregnant and ready to deliver at any time. Well, her timing was right because within 30 minutes of being brought inside, she started delivering her kittens! She was a wonderful mom and cared for her babies in her foster home. Once everyone was old enough to be adopted, her kiddos quickly found their forever families. With her babies gone to good homes, Clementine was ready to find HER happurrly ever after. She met her family at PetSmart and once home, she made herself comfortable with the resident dogs and humans! She is living the good life now!
Congrats to our two kitties that went home last week! Lulu and Clementine we are so happy for you and thankful that your forever family picked YOU! Enjoy your happurrly ever after!!!

This is either the luckiest mouse ever, or a highly skilled spy who infiltrated ARC at the exact moment he would not be discovered. Even though the cats were slacking, our humans were on the job and safely escorted him out of the building.
It's National Hug Your Cat Day! We recommend using extreme caution while "celebrating" this day! This is Dante, and while he is far from wanting to be hugged, he is making great strides in trusting humans! He was nearly feral for a long time, but with time, patience and the help of his kitty roommates, Dante is learning that humans are not half bad! He's still conflicted, but you can see he comes back for more pets! Way to go Dante!
We send our cats to PetSmart to find their forever families, but Lulu and Copper found each other! These two love bugs are infatuated with each other and have even "moved in together", they share access to each other's Adoption Center Apartment and can spend time together whenever they want! We thought Lulu didn't get along with other cats... until she met Copper and he worked his magic on her! Both are the sweetest cats and both are somehow STILL looking for their forever homes!!! Maybe now it can be together!??? Please share so we can get these two adopted!
Meet Hannah! She and her sister, Heidi, were rescued from an abandoned building. They took some time to come around, but now we are seeing their true purrsonalities! Hannah is such a character and having a blast in her foster home! She would love to share a home with Heidi, who follows Hannah's lead on everything! They are good with dogs, as you can see Hannah loves them in person and watching them on TV! They do well with other kitties, although they will hiss a bit in the beginning. They both are a lot of fun!
What's it like to have cats as your supervisor? Check out this day in the life video of working at ARC!
Elsa update! She is gaining weight and getting stronger every day! She is proving to be a huge snuggle bug who loves being close to people. She is also very playful and has a very loud purr for such a little girl! Thank you to her dedicated foster family for putting in the time and effort to keep her on the road to recovery, and to all her supporters who have helped fund her care. She is doing great so far, but is not out of the woods yet, she still needs continued care, a special diet and lots of love!!!
