Jasmine is a gorgeous 1 year old Bullmastiff mix pup. Jasmine met us today at the shelter and what a delight! She is super friendly and social and once she settled, very snuggly! Jasmine's family is seeking a home for her where she can better have her needs met. She currently lives with 2 other dogs (a medium senior and a small dog) and gets along great with them. Jasmine also LOVEs children and lives with them. She is crate trained and housebroken, but she does need work on her manners, particularly her jumping. With a little work she will improve from a great family pet to an amazing family pet! And look how sweet and cute that squishy face is!
Please contact [email protected] to help Jasmine.
This bundle of joy is 1 year old female Boxer Neena! Neena is in urgent need of placement. She is currently being kept outside and keeps escaping. She jumps on her dog house and jumps out of her pen and visits the neighbors. She loves to play with their large dog, but she also unfortunately likes to play with their chickens and that has not ended well for the chickens. We met Neena today and she is everything you would expect from a young Boxer - full of energy and excitement and joy. She has mastered the Boxer wiggle and was exceptionally friendly and adorable. It's getting very cold out and we would like to see Neena placed as soon as possible. Please contact [email protected] if you can help Neena.
🚨URGENT— SJRAS IS AT MAX CAPACITY 🚨
We are once again at full capacity—every kennel is full. This leaves us in a heartbreaking position where we must face euthanasia decisions. We urgently need help from our community to save lives. Any movement—whether through rescue placement, fostering, or adoption—makes a difference.
At this time, we cannot guarantee time holds for any dog or cat in our care. If you are a rescue interested in helping out please email [email protected].
We need help from fosters & adopters as well, come visit the shelter. We are open until 6pm today!
Kermit, a very sweet 4 month old Yorkie puppy, was originally brought into the shelter for a vet visit through our Community Outreach program. His owner reported that he was born without ball joints in his legs and had difficulty walking. We found that Kermit is in need of medical care that his owner cannot provide. We are urgently seeking rescue for Kermit so he can receive the surgery he needs as soon as possible and have a good quality of life. We are working on getting x-rays (hopefully will have them tomorrow) to get a better idea of what type of care he will need, but he possibly needs his right hind leg amputated as it is stiff and he cannot bear weight on it.
Kermit is exceptionally sweet and adorable and has lived with other dogs. Please contact [email protected] to help Kermit.

We would love to find placement for these brothers ASAP because we are full on kennel space. They are available for adoption or rescue placement. MEDICAL
We are seeking medical rescue placement for 4 year old Gum Drop! Gum Drop came to us as a stray after being seen at the vet for very inflamed, scaly skin. Her symptoms and treatment are consistent with demodex manage, however our skin scrape done in house came back negative. However, its clear that Gum Drop's skin is very sensitive and painful, with some bleeding occurring on her paws. We would love for Gum Drop to find placement after her stray hold. She is a sweet but very shy and nervous girl, but has started opening up more with staff. For medical rescue placement, please email [email protected]
Duce is a very handsome pup in urgent need of a new home due to a housing situation. Duce visited us at the shelter and was bouncy, wiggly, and happy! He is a lovely friendly boy, who also gets along well with other dogs. Please contact [email protected] if you can help Duce!
Sansa is a sweet and friendly rottweiler in our care at SJRAS. Sansa was picked up as a stray with a microchip, but unfortunately it was not registered and we've been unable to make contact with an owner for her. She has been bright and social with staff. She still needs a medical evaluation, but we would love to find rescue placement for her. Please send inquiries to [email protected]
Beans! is a young small/med mixed breed dog in our care at SJRAS. She is a fun and goofy gal who really opens up outside of her kennel with people. Her kennel presence initially wasn't great, but she's been making great strides with staff. Beans! is available for foster and rescue placement at this time. Please send inquiries to [email protected]
URGENT- Sunnie is at risk for mental decline at our facility and we are seeking immediate placement for her
Sunnie is a petite, mixed breed dog in our care at SJRAS. She has only been with us a few weeks, but it's obvious to us that being in a shelter setting is detrimental to her mental health. She spends her time in her kennel hiding and pacing constantly. Out of a kennel, she is incredibly sweet but nervous and submissive, she would try to curl up and hide under staff's legs and became fearful of attention until she realized she was being pet/given affection; despite her obvious fear and stress, she gave no indication of aggression. We don't know Sunnie's history, but she's clearly a dog that needs trust and confidence to really thrive. We would love to find rescue placement for her, or foster placement. We cannot guarantee a time hold on Sunnie given our current kennel overcapacity. If you can help Sunnie, please email [email protected]
URGENT!!
Promise is a 3 year old mastiff/boxer mix who was brought into our facility after being hit by a car. When she was brought in half sedated, she displayed some fear/pain related aggression towards staff. However, over the last few weeks during her treatment, our staff has been able to engage with her and take her out of her kennel.
Outside of a kennel, Promise is a different dog who is social, friendly, and responsive to commands. Her kennel presence however is still poor and not representative of her personality. Additionally, she does have some behaviors/traits of her breed that we're not equipped to give guidance to adopters on. Promise still has some physical scars/abrasions on her as well as a head tilt we believe is related to the trauma. Promise would benefit from additional training as well as a foster home to decompress and heal from the trauma. If you can help Promise, please let us know ASAP-- she is available for adoption, rescue, and foster placement. We are unfortunately overcapacity on kennel space and cannot guarantee a time hold on any dogs. We believe Promise has a lot of potential but due to her medical/behavioral history, she is considered most at risk.
Please send rescue inquiries to [email protected], for adoption/foster inquiries please fill out the appropriate application on our website AND come in during our operational hours to meet Promise!
