Luke was not thrilled to be in a crate at the vets office today. Poor guy was so pitiful, he deserved the Sarah McLachlan song.

Luke vet update!
Luke is up to 4.36lbs at 9 months, 1 week and 5 days old.
Dr Miller confirmed that Luke is deaf.
Unfortunately we did not get him cleared for adoption, instead we got a neurology referral. Dr Miller is concerned Luke’s head tilt and left leaning gait is a sign of something neurological and not from his ears as originally thought.
We did up Luke’s medicine since he’s gained a good amount of weight, so now we just wait to see neurology.

Just at the turn of 2025, NPKR caught fire with 48 cats inside. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control pretty quickly, however the house is a total loss due to fire, smoke and water damage. 46 of 48 cats survived, and now they need help rebuilding supplies, and basics for themselves and the babies.

Proceeds from this event will be donated directly to help in that process.

Meet Yahtzee!!
Yahtzee is our first intake of 2025.
This extremely handsome little man has had a rough start to life. At just 10-12 weeks old, he already has ulcers on both of his eyes, affecting his vision. However, it seems to have made him even more sweet!! He made me pet him the entire time he ate his first meal here.

We will go into more detail on where Yahtzee came from once we secure placement for the additional 60+ cats and kittens on the property.

Luke Beau Duke says Good Morning!!
For you Luke lovers out there, he goes in for a checkup on Thursday. Fingers crossed we get the all clear to put him up for adoption. Luke has been with us since April of 2024 and while he remains the size of a 10 week old kitten, all our fingers are crossed for this sweet little dude!!
