Hi everybody, I’m King! 👑 I’m a dashing 10-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, known around here as the Master of Melodrama. 🎭

I’m a total Oscar-worthy performer—especially when it comes to cookies! 🍪 If I see a treat I want, I’ll suddenly limp or act oh-so-pitiful, pulling at your heartstrings until you give in. Once I get the snack? BOOM! My "injury" magically vanishes, and my tail wags in victory. (What can I say? I’ve got the moves!)

But don’t let my dramatic flair fool you—I’m as gentle and loving as they come. My human thinks I’m perfect! 💙

✨Pet of the Week✨

Hi there, I’m Emma! 🐾 I’m a 10-year-old Lab/Dalmatian mix with a zest for life and a knack for adventure. My humans () call me a “Miracle!”—probably because I’ve given them more than a few heart-stopping moments over the years. 😇

For starters, I’m energetic and sassy, and I LOVE chasing lights. Seriously, if you’ve got a flashlight or laser pointer, we’re about to have the best time ever.

But here’s the story that really sealed my legendary status: I escaped my yard by braving the electric fence (it’s fine, I’m tough like that) and swam to my neighbor’s yard. From there, I decided to take myself on an hour-long self-guided tour of the park. What can I say? A girl’s gotta explore! Eventually, I made my way back home, safe and sound, like the independent adventurer I am.

These days, I’m keeping my escapades a little more local, but I’m still as sassy and energetic as ever. If you see me at Coastal Vet, come say hi! Woof woof! 🐾

Meet Lisa Hoberg, our Group Director and one of our Coastal Vet originals! Lisa has been with us since day one, even before the clinic doors opened in September 2022. Her journey to Coastal Vet started when she moved back from Fort Worth, Texas, dreaming of a career that combined her two favorite things: dogs and diamonds. ✨💎

Lisa’s favorite part about working here? “It’s all about the relationships—getting to know the pets and their people. It’s fun to greet members by their pet’s name. Like, ‘Oh, there’s Luna’s mom!’ or ‘Sparky’s dad!’ Building those connections makes every day special.” 🐾

Lisa’s fur family is just as fabulous as she is:

Hey everyone, I’m Freya! 🐾 I’m a 1.5-year-old German Shepherd with a flair for the dramatic. My mom calls me crazy, lovable, and a warrior, and honestly? She’s not wrong!

I’ve been through some wild adventures—like, “almost-died-three-times” kind of wild. But don’t worry, I’m thriving now and living life to the fullest (and fastest). When it’s time for food, I channel my inner bunny and hop with excitement—it’s my signature move! 🐇🍖

My talents don’t stop there, though. I’m also an interior designer… sort of. Let’s just say I gave my mom’s () very expensive couch a "Freya-inspired makeover." It wasn’t exactly intentional, but hey, art is subjective, right? 😬

Hi friends, I’m Cheeto! 💙 I’m a 6-month-old Persian kitten, but around here, I’m better known as the ‘Perfect Floofy Baby.’ My floof is always on point, and my antics are even better.

Let me tell you, I’m not just cute—I’m skilled. I’m a Professional Lego Stealer. You build it, I swipe it! That’s my life motto. 😼 Oh, and my Pomeranian brother? He’s my favorite target for sneak attacks. I like to keep him on his toes by pouncing on him at least once every hour. Gotta keep the sibling rivalry alive, right?

When I’m not mastering the art of chaos, I’m busy perfecting my floofy poses and basking in compliments from everyone who meets me. Let’s just say, being adorable is a full-time job, but someone’s gotta do it!

Meet Amanda Witt, one of Coastal Vet’s incredible Veterinary Assistants! Amanda joined our team in February 2023, bringing with her over 14 years of experience in veterinary care. She’s a wealth of knowledge and a true animal lover.

Amanda’s favorite part of her job? “The personalized care and attention we give to pets and their owners, especially the client education aspect. Teaching people how to better care for their pets is so rewarding.” 💙

Before Coastal Vet, Amanda had an action-packed career working with an incredible variety of animals, from wildlife to exotic pets. She’s cared for everything—warthogs, ferrets, hawks, and even really BIG snakes. 🐍 While she loved the excitement, Amanda appreciates the calmer, more focused environment at Coastal Vet. She enjoys having time for continuing education and staying updated on the latest veterinary advancements.

Amanda is a proud pet parent, too! She takes care of Summer, her adorable mystery mutt (a possible Maine Coon/Forest Cat mix she plans to DNA test soon), and Rex, her mischievous 3-year-old Golden Retriever who keeps her on her toes. Fun fact: Amanda’s family is full of animal lovers, including her sister, who’s an equine veterinarian! 🐎

Hi people, I’m Mako! I’m an 8-month-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and you might’ve already heard of me—I’m kind of a big deal around here. That’s right, I’m somewhat of a “local celebrity” in Virginia Beach. No autographs, please... okay, maybe just one paw print! 🐾😉

I’m charming (some say I’m Mr. Steal Yo Girl), adventurous, and way too smart for my own good. My big ears don’t just make me cute—they’re like radar dishes. I can hear a treat bag open from across the house, even if you’re trying to be sneaky about it. Nice try, humans.

Speaking of adventures, I’m a big fan of bringing home souvenirs. My favorite? Sticks. A walk isn’t complete unless I find the perfect stick to carry home—it’s basically my trademark. Oh, and I recently discovered that raiding my dad’s sock drawer is a blast! That is until my little legs couldn’t get me back downstairs, and I had to call for backup. Let’s just say, I’m a pro at creating dramatic rescues!

Say hello to our newest veterinarian, Dr. Amanda German! 🩺🐾

We’re so excited to welcome Dr. German to the Coastal Vet team! With expertise spanning emergency and critical care, internal medicine, wound management, and preventative care, she’s ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our members and their pets.

Dr. German studied biology, chemistry, and psychology at Virginia Tech before earning her degree from the Royal Veterinary College in London. She completed a small animal rotating internship focusing on internal medicine, surgery, and emergency care and has since built a career that includes time at the Norfolk SPCA, Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners, and most recently, Strawbridge Animal Care.

What sets Dr. German apart is her dedication to forming strong bonds with her patients and their families. Her goal is to provide exceptional care tailored to each pet’s unique needs—something we value deeply here at Coastal Vet. 💙

Outside the clinic, Dr. German cherishes time with her husband, young daughter, and their fur family—a long-haired dachshund and two cats. She also enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and serving her local community.

Hi there, I’m Bane—but you can call me Baney-boo! 🐾 I’m a 3-year-old Olde English Bulldog with a personality as big as my wrinkly cheeks. Some might say I’m a little sassy, others might say silly, but let’s be honest—I’m mostly sleepy. 😴

My humans, Summer and Tyler , know how to keep me happy by building pillow forts for me to lounge in. Yes, I’m a king, and my fort is my castle! 👑 If you ever catch me by the water, just know I take the term p**p deck VERY seriously. 💩⚓ I love making my humans laugh and, if I’m lucky, stealing a few extra snacks before nap time.
