Checkers meet and greet yesterday didn’t fall thru.

His potential new foster didn’t fall thru.

His meet and greet set up for today didn’t fall thru.

Someone has to know someone that wants this adorable puppy.

He is house trained, crate trained, has leash manners. Very treat motivated.

He has been in board and train for almost 2 months now.

His recall has improved, he listens to verbal correction very well.

He has not been around cats, does not do well with dogs under 15 pounds.

He plays well with the dogs he’s been paired with.

Does best with slow introductions.

With proper supervision and someone willing to continue his training, his resource gaurding has improved significantly!

He is a very smart dog.

Unfortunately our facility due to a family planned event can not continue his training at this time.

So Magpie & Daisy's Pet Rescue needs a new foster for him on 5/1.

Please help share his posting to help get this sweet boy a foster or forever family

Update on Maze

Please reach out to Cliff's Coonhound Rescue & Trapping to find out how you can foster her after her next heartworm treatment. Or by 5/1/24.

House training has been going very well. We have learned to recognize that if she barks in the house she is letting you know that she needs to go out. We have been utilizing bells and she's doing better with hearing the bells, knowing that it's time to go out. When we first wake up and right before bed we have been giving her 20-30 supervised yard time.

Walking her on the easy walk harness has taken the pull out of her walk, and she walks very nicely, and almost a complete heel.

We've been working on wait and leave it with food and she's being very responsive to this. It's just a matter of consistency.

We started using physical and verbal praise instead of treats during training for sit and shake. She's doing very well with this. If using treats, you have to use easy so she does not sn**ch them from your hand, but take some gentle.

She is doing well with older kids seven and up. I have not been able to expose her to children under that. I have not been able to expose her to cats. However I do not believe she will do well with them because the dogs that she has been exposed to that are 18 pounds and under she likes to chase and pin to the ground.

She plays very well with our husky collie mix, and my shepherd mix, and my pity leonberger mix so large dogs, medium dog she's doing very well with. She demonstrates healthy play.

We have been able to make sure she does not have accidents in her crate by placing a dog bed in her crate, not a pad she tries to chew those but an actual soft bed, and then covering the crate with a cover when she does have to be left in the house by herself for any period of time.

She does well with her grooming needs.

Checkers needs new foster placement by 5/1/24

Checkers has stopped aggressively going after other dogs to guard items, however, we are still working on stopping the body blocking that he performs when he feels an item is his. He is doing very well with consistent training

If checkers gets a good 30 minute walk or strenuous playtime, he does not whine when going into his crate for dinner or bedtime so proper exercise and physical exertion are going to be a must for him.

Checkers is still very vocal when he goes to Stores we are working on leave it and he is responding well to treat Training

I have not exposed checkers to younger children because he has not shown to be safe around small dogs. He likes to nip when he chases them. I do feel he would be better with older children and if a proper dog introduction is done an older larger laid-back dog could be a good fit for him. If single dog home is not available

He has been doing very well with grooming.

Phantom needs new foster placement by 5/1/24.

Phantom is continuing to do well around older and younger children, as well as all dogs that he’s been exposed to. Has played well with dogs 10lbs - 120lbs

His adversion to a crate is gone now he goes in it recognizing that it’s meal time and bedtime.

He still is not interested in treats for basic obedience training so instead, we’ve been using Physical praise and he’s been responding well to this.

He has been to Lowe’s Home Depot and pet shops is not reactive when other dogs bark at him will leave them be if movement is continued and you do not stop to wait for them

He has learned settle as well as leave it and drop it

Unsupervised in the home, he is still marking, however, when supervised, he has no accidents.

Would do well in an active home with dogs after safe introduction.

Does well in the car.

Does well with grooming.
