October 10 will always be a significant day for Ellis Equestrian Services. It’s the day when our biggest supporter (Jeanette, Mom, and Granny) passed and went to a better place. It is a day that our farm will always cherish and celebrate her life. Without her push, support, and nurturing we would not have developed into the barn we are today. We can truly say she would be proud of all of our barn’s success. Thank you for always being a part of our journey even if it’s from afar. You will always be loved and missed, but we hope heaven is treating you well. Rest Easy!

Hello, Ellis Equestrian Services is hosting a horse show on September 7th at Roseoldian Farms. I am looking for sponsors for the show to help us put on the best show we possibly can. All sponsorships will sponsor divisions and help us create some amazing memories for our competitors. Individuals and company names will be put into the prize list for association members to see. Ellis Equestrian Services currently has a stall available for full boarding. Full board options include EES suppling grain or you suppling your own. Boarding options give you the opportunity to have lessons and/or training prorated into your board. We do not offer straight stall boarding.

It’s that time of year again! Show Season 2024 is upon us. This weekend our Ellis Equestrian Services riders had their first show of the season. There were many ribbons, fantastic courses, and most importantly we brought home some new knowledge. Huge congratulations to Emma Brookeover, Emma Whitehurst, and Tatem Wissinger this weekend at the VBHSA Crafty Fox Show. We cannot wait till the next show where the other 3/4 of our team will join us!

As summer approaches, we’re excited to announce our upcoming Summer Camps!

Our camps promise a blend of equestrian education, outdoor adventure, and unforgettable memories. From daily ride time and lessons to hands-on care for our amazing equine friends, your child will embark on a journey of growth, learning, and tons of fun—regardless of experience level.

This year Ellis Equestrian Services is hosting some summer fun social events! Please feel free to bring your friends and families for some fun! All events will have some fun and exciting activities that you will want to bring cash for. All events and the money raised will lead up to our last event which is Hoedown Throwdown! This will be our last event for the summer socials. At the Howdown Throwdown you will get to have a little fun and give your trainers some payback. 😉 Mark your calendars for our first social carnival craze!

Canter to the carnival on May 25th. Admission tickets will be $2 per person. Bring cash for carnival tickets to play some wonderful carnival games, such as, the grand ole sack race, ranglers ring toss, bobbing for apples, darts and so much more! 🎠🎟️

Meet the horses Monday!

Meet Gara! A 4 year old thoroughbred chestnut mare. Hearing the term "chestnut mare" you think of one sassy horse and yes Gara may have her sassy moments, but she sure is one LOVING mare!
Gara loves treats, playing in the field with her friends, and all the food!
Gara has come so far in just a few years and we can't wait to see what this year brings for this sweet baby!

Friday’s Feature; Sophia

This wonderful lady has been riding with EES for the past 2 years. Throughout her riding career she has tried western, hunter jumpers, and has started dabbling with show jumpers. She has developed an admirable drive for showing and has become a competitive member of the VBHSA. Within this year, for VBHSA she has received the title of reserve champion in the VHSA “Eq on the flat” class. Her dedication to her riding career has been nothing short of spectacular. You can find her at the barn 2-4 days and week, constantly working on improving herself. She has continuously been a substantial asset to our barn community and is regularly doing what she can to help others, as well as the barn as a whole. She is a wonderful and valuable role model to EES, many of our younger riders look up to her and she is always held in high regard.

Thank you Sophia for always being a reliable and caring member of our barn. You always have a smile on your face and have spectacular horsemanship. I’ve never seen you come in with a bad attitude. We all appreciate everything you do so much.

Congratulations to all of the Ellis Equestrian Services LLC riders for the year of 2023. I got behind on making show posts this year but we had some pretty amazing shows, riders, horses, and parents! I cannot say enough of how proud I am of every single one of my riders. There was tremendous growth this year in all of our horses, riders and our farm.

Girls, I cannot say how proud I am of each and every one of you dedicating your weekends to the horse shows (I know sometimes it’s hard to make that sacrifice). From sun up to sundown, your horses were always your first priority. As a trainer, I cannot express how much horsemanship there is in this crew. All of you grew exponentially as riders. You girls are providing a wonderful example to all of our younger riders because they see how motivated, dedicated, and strong willed you girls are. I am lucky to say that I’m your coach!

Parents I would not be able to make this possible without your wonderful attitudes and always being on top of everything. I never had to stress about entries or the kids being on time. Without each of you, the show season couldn’t possibly have been as amazing as it was. I cannot thank all of you enough for how much you dedicate your time into this sport too.

VBHSA, thank you for running some wonderful horse shows this year. Thank you for also making them enjoyable for all of my students and parents. without a wonderful association, such as yourself, these girls would not be able to demonstrate their love and passion for this sport. thank you for also adding me as a board member this year. It has been a great experience so far. I cannot wait to help this association grow and prosper like it has throughout the years.

Luna Blu thank you for hosting a wonderful and extremely professional schooling show. A lot of first time riders and horses were able to have a wonderful first time experience due to you.

Lastly, thank you to all the EES family and clients. If it was not for each and every one of you, this would not be possible in general. I am so grateful to have a wonderful and supportive barn family. We have grown a lot in these two little years.

Congratulations to all the participants at the first VBHSA show of 2023 last weekend and congratulations to all the EES riders! It was the Ellis Equestrian Services team’s first show of the season. All the girls and parents were extremely helpful and on point all weekend. There were many different colors of ribbons and learning moments! I could not be a more proud coach. The horses and girls were fantastic. There were many firsts for all the riders and horses. First show for some riders, first time jumping at a show, first show for some horses, and ect. Cannot wait to see how everyone improves this season.

Huge thank you to Bridlewood for an amazing start to the season. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day go extremely smoothly. Thank you Kasey Rosebud Evans for answering all of my questions! You’re amazing! Everyone was so incredibly supportive and sweet, it made it a nice and comfortable show!

Thank you to all my girls for all the hard work and support you put in for this team/family! Huge thank you to the Smith’s for helping out with trailering! Huge thanks to Cortney Halsey and Matthew for helping out with the trailering too! I couldn’t do it without you guys! Thank you to all the parents for stepping up to the plate and helping make the show run so smooth for our team. You parents play such a huge part in this show team and there is no way I could ever thank each and everyone of you enough!
