⭐️ Spotlight on Sophia ⭐️

Most of you probably know Sophia, a standout at EES and a fixture of our Barn Family for 5 years! This amazing girl has dedicated a huge portion of her life to her passion for horses. Since teaming up with Carrie and EES, she has achieved so much.
Once a timid rider, Sophia has blossomed in her abilities and confidence— now we can put her on just about any horse, and she'll shine, in the show ring, and at home.

Not only is Sophia a fantastic team player, but she also has a heart of gold. With a super busy schedule that includes athletics, family time, community service, a part-time job, and school events, somehow, she always finds time to live and breathe the farm life. This isn’t just a once-in-a-while thing for her; she’s committed to being with us as often as possible.

Sophia’s favorite memory with EES was jumping 3ft for the first time. She also just genuinely enjoys being at the barn and loves being able to stay and help out when she’s able.

“I am so grateful to Carrie and all the horses I’ve ridden for helping me become the rider I am today… I tend to fall in love with every horse I meet, the EES horses will always have a special place in my heart, and so will the entire EES family!”

Today is National Trainer Appreciation Day! We wanted to take today to express our gratitude for the best coach, CEO, mastermind, and the HEART of Ellis Equestrian Services. We all see Carrie’s dedication daily but what we feel is her incredible heart and soul. EES is the manifestation of Carrie’s dream and every day we are so appreciative to be a part of it. Riding has been a part of her life forever, and it always will be.

🌟 Meet Braylyn! 🌟
In just a few short months at Ellis Equestrian, Braylyn has made remarkable strides in her riding journey. From mastering the art of working with horses to building her confidence in both riding and ground handling, she’s truly blossomed.
We were thrilled to celebrate her milestone of purchasing her first equine partner, Bliss, with our team earlier this year! Braylyn is one of the sweetest souls you’ll ever meet, always radiating positivity and joy whenever she’s at the farm. Her love for horses is undeniable, and she could spend countless hours just soaking up the equestrian life.
As a cautious overthinker, Braylyn approaches every task with thoughtfulness and determination, always striving for efficiency and success. With her heart of gold, she works hard to make herself and everyone around her proud.
Outside of EES, Braylyn plays volleyball, reads, and loves to collect seashells and sea glass.
We can’t wait to see how her partnership with Bliss develops! They have both put in so much effort as they prepare for the upcoming show season. Look out, 2025—there’s a bright future ahead for this dynamic duo!

Lillian is one of the most dedicated parents you'll ever meet. Always ready to lend a helping hand, you can find her on the sidelines cheering for Selena and the entire Ellis Equestrian team. One of her favorite pastimes is capturing moments with her camera, showcasing our horses and team members.
Her positive and energetic spirit is truly contagious, and she consistently brings a bright atmosphere to our events. Lillian is proactive in asking how she can help our team improve and support Selena's growth. Rain or shine, she's the first to arrive and the last to leave—her commitment is unwavering!

Spotlight of the Week: Caroline at Ellis Equestrian
This week, we are excited to shine a spotlight on Caroline, who has been with EES for just over a year. In this relatively short time, Caroline has demonstrated remarkable growth as a rider. When she first joined us, she had a solid understanding of the basic foundations of riding. Now, she exudes confidence and has the ability to hop on a variety of horses with ease.
Caroline is a familiar face around the barn, often one of the first to arrive and the last to leave, showcasing her dedication to her passion. This year, she experienced her first lease, which has undoubtedly strengthened her connection with horses and deepened her love for riding.
We are also thrilled to announce that Caroline will be participating in her first full show with Ellis Equestrian this year. Her progress has been impressive, and we are eager to see how much she continues to improve as she takes on this new challenge.

⭐️Meet Ashley⭐️

Despite her limited time with us, Ashley has quickly become an integral part of our team. She has been riding for 6 years, and just joined EES a short while ago. We’ve helped her get confidence back in the saddle and expand her already deep knowledge of the sport. She consistently offers her assistance and is always eager to help others. Due to her military background, Ashley has experienced frequent relocations, but she has found a welcoming and supportive environment here at Ellis Equestrian Services.
Ashley is in the Navy and has lived in San Diego, Dallas, and Virginia Beach! We’re so glad she is with us now 💙 She enjoys spending free time with her husband and cat.
In her time with us, Ashley has made notable strides in her riding skills and has gained significant confidence in her abilities. Her dedication is evident in her consistent effort, and she brings a positive energy to every session, always greeting everyone with a bright smile.

Known for her positive attitude and willingness to help others, she is always the first to step up when needed, tackling every task with a smile.
Though she hasn’t been with us for a long time, Selena has shown exceptional commitment and hard work. Her partnership with Hermione has blossomed, allowing her to enhance her riding skills significantly. With an impressive drive for success, she has improved her equitation and deepened her understanding of horse function, enabling her to work her horse to its fullest potential.

We are thrilled to announce that on September 7, 2024, Ellis Equestrian proudly hosted its inaugural horse show, officially rated by VBHSA and VHSA. This event was a fantastic experience for our entire Ellis Equestrian family and equestrian enthusiasts alike!
After months of dedicated preparation, we were excited to welcome participants and spectators to a day filled with skill, camaraderie, and the love of horses. Whether you were competing or cheering from the sidelines, the day wouldn’t have been the same without you.
A big thank you to our clients and young riders for stepping up to help with the setup and for the countless hours spent making sure everything was perfect on the day of the show. Although the setup was not as we initially envisioned, we came together as a team and made it work seamlessly.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this horse show a success. A special thank you to Roseoldian Farm for generously allowing us to use their facility and for their invaluable assistance throughout the event.

She’s not just a talented rider but also a fantastic role model for our younger students. Always eager to help out, Maya embodies the spirit of teamwork and encouragement. If she could live at the barn, she definitely would!
