It makes our day to receive feedback about our pet patients and their parents having a positive experience with our care team. As Bayley discovered, our virtual waitlist is especially helpful for anxious pets, and we were happy to receive her approval too; purrs included! 😺 We appreciate the recommendation to others, and we hope to see you and your fur baby whenever you need us! 💖

It is tempting to share your festive meals with your furry friends—but some human foods can be dangerous and even life-threatening for pets. Safeguard pets and avoid a trip to the vet by sticking to their regular pet food. Here is a quick reminder of common holiday foods to never feed your dog or cat:
❌ Poultry bones – Can puncture internal organs and cause severe injury.
❌ Turkey skin and fat – Can lead to pancreatitis.
❌ Caffeine and chocolate – Toxic due to caffeine and theobromine, which are poisonous to pets.
❌ Nuts (pecans, walnuts, almonds) – Oils can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and pancreatitis.
❌ Onions, garlic, and chives – Can cause gastrointestinal irritation and toxicity.

Be safe this holiday season—say NO ROVER! to these harmful foods and keep your pets healthy and happy! 🐶🐱

Pets with diabetes struggle to produce or use insulin properly, which affects their ability to convert food into energy. As a result, excess sugar builds up in the blood, leading to symptoms like:
👉 Excessive thirst and frequent urination
👉 Weight loss despite an increased appetite
👉 Decreased appetite
👉 Cloudy eyes
👉 Recurring infections, including skin and urinary infections

If your pet is showing any of these signs, it is important to schedule a visit with your vet for diagnosis and treatment options. While diabetes has no cure, you can manage this condition with the right care. Do not wait—early detection is key to keeping your pet healthy and happy!

We❤️“Giving Tuesday”! What started as a simple idea to encourage acts of kindness is now a global movement that inspires people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. At Ally Urgent Veterinary Care, one organization has a special place in our hearts—Not One More Vet, Inc (NOMV). Founded by Dr. Nicole McArthur after the tragic suicide of veterinarian Dr. Sophia Yin in 2014, NOMV started as a private Facebook group where veterinary professionals could openly discuss the challenges of their work. Since then, it has grown into a powerful nonprofit, providing support, education, and resources for veterinary professionals and students worldwide. This Giving Tuesday, we hope you will consider supporting NOMV as well. Together, let’s make a difference. Visit www.nomv.org/ to learn more and donate.

Not One More Vet is the leader in veterinary mental health. Our organization provides outreach, peer support, and educational resources to help veterinary professionals thrive.
