Grab some silicone molds and a few simple ingredients and make your pups a Valentine's Day dessert!

💜 Homemade Frozen Yogurt Bites 💜

Ingredients:
Plain Greek yogurt
Strawberries 🍓 or Blueberries 🫐 or Peanut Butter 🥜

How to Make:
1. Add yogurt and your choosen "flavor" to the blender
2. Blend until ingredients are combined
3. Pour mixture into molds
4. Freeze for 3 hours or until Frozen
5. Let your pet enjoy a delicious treat!

Storage:
Store in freezer in air tight container

Before the day got started with seeing patients we were packed full of fun!

Building Trust with Gentle and Positive Interactions

✅ Do: Build trust with your new rescue dog through gentle, positive interactions. Use high-value treats or toys to reinforce good behavior and make interactions enjoyable. Take your time and let your dog come to you on their own terms. Be patient and consistent in your approach.

🚫 Don't: Avoid using force, intimidation, or punishment-based techniques like yelling, leash corrections, or aversive devices. These can erode trust and cause fear or anxiety, particularly in a rescue dog who may already have a history of trauma.

Need some fun ways to entertain your dog on a rainy day? 🌧

Try one of these to mentally stimulate their brains when cooped up inside:

🐾 Fill a lick mat with peanut 🥜 butter and freeze it. They will enjoy this delicious treat later in the day.

🐾 Use a snuffle mat - Sniffing is a natural calming and relaxing activity for dogs.

🐾 Fill a Kong with plain Greek yogurt - Tip: Freezing it makes it last longer 😉

🐾 Grab a puzzle - Yes! One for you and one for your fur baby... Once your pups have completed their puzzles you will have time to enjoy yours!

Creating a Safe Space for Your New Rescue Dog

✅ Do: Give your rescue dog a quiet, comfy space to call their own. This could be a crate, a cozy bed, or a specific room in your home. Let them explore this area at their own pace without forcing interaction. This is their safe zone where they can decompress after the transition.

🚫 Don't: Don't overwhelm them with too many new experiences or interactions right away. Rescue dogs often need time to adjust to their new environment and may become stressed if there’s too much stimulation too soon.
