Foreign body removal: unbeknownst to the owner this little girl ingested an entire chicken skewer, stick and all. She was presented to us with a history of vomiting and an unknown mass on the side of her abdomen. After a medical examination and further treatment (x-rays) it was determined that there was a skewer penetrating through the stomach into the abdominal wall. The skewer was removed and she is on her way to making a full recovery. #veterinarysurgery #veterinarysurgeon

A 6 month old lab mix with a pericardial diaphragmatic hernia, which is a very rare condition in dogs. Pericardial diaphragmatic hernia is the disruption of the diaphragm which allows abdominal organs to migrate into the chest cavity. This little guy was born with his intestines, liver, part of his colon, AND gall bladder in the sac around his heart! A very scary condition for this guy, but now he is on the road to recovery.
