As we got our first taste of winter weather this week, here’s some tips to keep your pets safe this season. Brought to you by a very cozy Lamb Chop!

🧊 Make sure de-icers are pet safe and wipe paws after coming inside to remove access salts and chemicals
🧣Bundle up those shorter haired pets. Jackets and/or booties can give them extra warmth. Winter weather dogs, it's your time to shine! Don’t forget to still check their paws to make sure they are not too cold
🌡 Limit outdoor time in freezing temperatures. Bring pets inside to prevent frostbite or hypothermia
🏠 If pets can’t come inside, provide a dry outdoor shelter with enough bedding to keep them warm. Double check outdoor water bowls to make sure they don’t freeze, use a heated bowl if needed
🚗 Before you drive off, tap your hood or honk your horn to make sure there aren’t any outdoor cats sleeping in or under the car to keep warm. Don’t keep pets alone inside cars, temperatures can drop quickly.
🔥Use space heaters that are sturdy with automatic shut-off. Supervise pets around indoor heaters
🩺 If you notice your pet may be having weather related health conditions, call and schedule an appointment to keep your fur baby well this winter!

With the fun of the holidays can come some not so fun hazards for your pets. Make sure to keep your furry friends away from potentially harmful foods, decorations, and other items that can lead to a not so jolly time.

If your pet does get into anything potentially hazardous call Pet Poison Control, get a case number from them associated with the incident, and reach out to your primary care provider based on recommended next steps.

Good morning Beach Pet Family! This week the team’s been working on something extra special for you! We made 6 christmas wreaths that everyone can bid on. Bid’s start at 50$ and 100% of the proceeds will go to Holy Spirit food pantry. Winners will be notified by noon on 12/3. Full cash payment will be due at pick up from our clinic!
