Briarwood Farm Golden Retrievers are raised in our home with daily individual attention. We dedicate a good deal of time to the welfare and development of each puppy from conception until the moment they leave with their new companion(s). Each puppy recieves Early Neurological Stimulation from day 3-16 and from there we incorporate a limited amount of the positive training methods inspired by the
Puppy Prodigies neo-natal early learning program. Briarwood Farm Goldens leave our home with a ResQ ISO microchip, their first set of immunizations, vet health report, two year health guarantee against Hip and Elbow Dysplasia, SAS, congenital eye defects and screening for PRA. Again, Briarwood Goldens are raised in our home with our family, not in a kennel. We endeavor to produce healthy, sound and well socialized pups from the beginning. After reaching 5 weeks of age they are regularly socialized with children, introduced to retrieving toys, birds, and shallow water. Our pups frequently ride in cars and are accustomed to being in a crate at night or for short periods during the day. We strive to breed wonderful examples of the breed standard with excellent temperaments and generations of health clearances from verifiably sound pedigrees exhibiting a healthy genetic background. A well-mannered and socialized golden is a joy to live with! Conversely, a spoiled rotten, untrained or poorly socialized dog of any breed can be a nightmare. Your pup’s future is in your hands and that is a big responsibility not to be taken lightly. We will provide you with tips to continue proper socialization and training. Additionally, we will be available to answer your questions for as long as your dog lives. Just as we put time and effort into each puppy, we also have expectations for your interactions and attention to continue with your dog when you take them home. We require new puppy owners to enroll in a puppy socialization class after the puppy reaches 16 weeks of age followed by private obedience sessions to build the foundation for a more rewarding relationship that will last a lifetime.
