This weekend has been super eventful for Cody! Friday marked 7 days straight with no accidents in the house or crate! He is now peeing, pooping and crating on command and really enjoys having a regular routine he can rely on. Saturday was his first Spa Day, we were skeptic on how that would go since Cody hasn't been a fan of rain or water in any fashion seen arriving here just under 30 days ago but once again Cody shocked us all. He wasn't super excited about the water part of the Spa Day but he sure loved all the rubs that came with it not to mention all that attention that came along with his pawdicure, ear cleaning and nail trim. He did so well for the bath and blow dry as a reward he went for his first ever Pack Walk too which he was again was a super star by not reacting to any other dogs, squirrels or birds. He does however need further leash training as you can tell he is inexperienced there and tries to throw his weight around which we found out on Sunday was more than we even expected. Sunday he met his new vet and got ALL vaccines updated and he weighed in at a whopping 68 lbs. Trust me if you ever meet this short bully in person you would not think he weighs that much lol. However this stocky boy has learned to use his weight to push his way out of doors, gates and bathtubs in the past and he has and will try doing it again if it works but he is also heavily food motivated and is extremely eager to please so he is a joy to work with and be around. Again due to his special needs we will be heavily screening all applicants to find the perfect FOREVER FAMILY for Cody but please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have. I am not always on Facebook so if I don't get back via Facebook right away you can always reach out to Blue Horse Mukwa Equine Retirement and Rescue Center who has made his new life a possibility and not just a dream and or you can contact me directly on my website rightontraining.com

Cody has graduated rehabilitation training! He is ready to start reviewing applicants for his forever home could this be you? He is not a fan of being caught...

Oakley is definitely starting to show signs that she has decompressed. Tomorrow marks 4 weeks she has been out of the shelter. 2 completely with us and daily visits from her new dad Sean Uren and 2 now going home nightly with him and on weekends! She definitely knows she has found a new daddy and she is testing the boundaries in every way. She always enjoyed a good fence fight with the Littles behind us but while trying to impress the "new humans" in her life and hoping to secure herself a stable home she had excellent recall from the fence! We've seen her do it and we will get her back there soon. It's actually good to see a dog decompress and finally feel comfortable to be thier true self around you without fear or judgment. If you recently adopted a dog roughly 4-6 weeks ago and you are seeing new unwanted behaviors please don't give up on the dog please know that just means they finally feel like they are safe and found thier forever home don't make them wrong just contact us if you need help!

Photos of Oakley learning excitement control and not dashing out the door every time it opens! Do you struggle with a dog that LOVES to go out so much that an open door seems like Disney World to them? Let us help you with that we totally get how frustrating that can be πŸ˜‰

Oakley used to live with a smaller dog which is probably where she picked up ankle biting as a way to engage play. She has been observing daycare while decompressing and after 3 and half weeks we paired her with the dog that matched her energy level and playstyle we could tell to the best of our ability but we will be taking this one dog at a time so every experience is a On one and she doesn't overwhelm anyone or get overwhelmed πŸ₯°

Oakley was struggling a bit in the shelter at Virginia Beach Animal Services so we offered her one of our training programs here called Spoiled In a Good Way! Since she did not yet have an owner we started her in the program as a foster. She very quickly adapted to being out of the shelter and into a training routine and quickly won over the hearts of both the other dogs and our current staff. It was no surprise that this gorgeous girl was adopted by Sean Uren before she had even completed her initial 2 weeks of Vacation Training which she graduated from last Friday and then went on to her forever home with her new dad! They will continue to work on the remainder of the training program together and are already putting in the work required to make a great family team. Congratulations on finally being adopted once again Sean!

Charley and Joey have done an excellent job at welcoming Oakley to the group! Oakley was supposed to be a foster for VBAC but as you can see she won over the hearts of the pack including Sean Uren and he has already placed his adoption application so she will be going home with him after her vacation training is over!

It's always nice to have others you can count on to help you out when you're on vacation. Although Amigo and Charley just met a couple days ago he has observed enough interactions with him and the pups to not only trust him with them, but to deny his request to switch out the play room for the resting/living room when Charley asked lol

Our Story

My name is Kimberly Dillon, but you can call me Kimmi! My passion is working with families to teach them how to train a more well behaved pup, so they too can once again enjoy peace and tranquility in their home.

My life was changed so much by a dog trainer who helped my family through a rough time that I decided to change career paths and learn how to help others as she had helped me. That’s when I started to attend Animal Behavior College and once I graduated opened Right On Training.

Now that Right On Training is starting to grow , our pack includes many families with lots of dogs and we are Grateful every day for all of them!

We’d love to hear all about your family, Let’s Meet;
