Kettle is loving this little Christmas house made by one of our long time volunteers, Jen. Kettle is a very chatty boy, that loves to play with toys, explore, and give the best snuggles. ❤️
Our DHS Pampered Chef Fundraiser was a huge success thanks to everyone who participated. 🐶😻
We raised $1,045.50 in matching donations that will go to support our work!
Today, Joanne, Animal Care Specialist, did the honors of drawing the winner of our Grand Prize. The new Brilliance Nonstick Half-Sheet Pan with Rack. 🏆
And our winner is...Kristyn Schuh!!
Congratulations!🎉
Big shout out to volunteer and Pampered Chef consultant Betty Jorgenson! ❤️
Final week for Pampered Chef orders!
Here is a quick tour of our shelter with some furry faces.
Every dollar raised will make a difference in the lives of all the animals we serve! 🐶🐱❤️
Lemon is one of the funniest cats we’ve had spend time in the office. She gets her cat “zoomies” daily and even chases her tail (hissing when she catches it!) Although, mostly an independent girl, she will receive affection when she is feeling up to it. 😸
Viroqua National Honor Society students came to volunteer at DHS this morning. They walked dogs, gardened, cleaned walls, rinsed/replaced filters, took photos of our animals, filled the bird feeder, and cleaned out some drains. They worked hard and extra credit goes to Madi, Emily, Vinny and Evan for the dog drain cleaning - you guys are awesome! Wonderful group of kids!!
Oh…and enrichment time with the animals. Here is Lemon loving the time she spent with them.
Fostering is not a lifetime commitment. It is a commitment to save a life.
When Kringle came to us, he was NOT a happy camper. He would hide in his cubby and only come out to eat. Since being in a foster home, he is learning to accept affection and give some in return! This is why having foster homes are so important to us.
As a foster, you will be able to save an animal's life by helping a rescue animal become a happy/well-adjusted pet and allow us to learn about each animal's unique personality. Consider becoming a foster and helping your local shelter.
Sue is a shy silly girl who came to us after the unexpected passing of her owner.
Sue is 4yo and a perfect apartment sized gal! While Sue is bashful at first she is incredibly loving once comfortable with you.
