Health Alert. Pets fed raw meat and milk from cows infected with Bird Flu are contracting Bird Flu.

ALERT: The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is advising residents to not feed their pets Monarch Raw Pet Food sold at several farmers markets in California due to detection of H5 bird flu virus in product samples.

Residents who fed their pets Monarch raw pet food products or other raw meat or dairy products and notice their pet is experiencing symptoms should immediately contact their veterinarian.

Additionally, residents should avoid consumption of all raw milk and raw meat products and not feed these to their pets. LA County Public Health recently confirmed H5 bird flu in four house cats from a separate household that consumed recalled raw milk and became sick and died, which is part of an ongoing investigation. Toast is making excellent progress on her road to recovery

Dear friends and supporters, we are so happy to share a pawsitive update on our beloved Toast, the brave kitten who survived a fire. Toast has been showing us just how strong and resilient she truly is! Despite the challenges she’s faced, her spirit remains bright, and her gentle purrs are a constant reminder of her will to heal.

Thanks to your incredible support, Toast has been receiving the best possible care, and we’re seeing wonderful progress every day. She’s eating well, getting lots of cuddles, and takes medicine like a champ. We’re continuing her wound care treatments to ensure her burns heal properly, and she has a follow-up appointment with her vet this coming Monday to assess her progress. We’ll keep you all updated on what the vet says, but for now, things are looking up for our sweet Toast!

This is why we do not recommend getting orthopedic surgeries like TPLOs done in Mexico. You shouldn’t be able to see the plate through the gaping hole in the skin. This is a post op infection and skin dehiscence caused by bacterial infection. A common occurrence unfortunately that we see when surgeries are performed south of the border.
