Scale World Order

Scale World Order The scale World order is an organization for education, rehabilitation and dedication to wiildlife Hello everyone!

My name is Ryan and I am the founder of sWo (scale World order) and if you think I ripped that off from an 90's wrestling stable then.... Keep walking don't worry about it.... Anyways! me and my team are a group of reptile enthusiasts looking to start promoting awareness and education across the territory. We are working out of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and service most of the surrounding areas of Wi

sconsin and Illinois even further given travel. We look to provide you with an understand and new found love for these creatures and let you get a first hand experience with living looking dinosaurs (yes, we know birds) Come and enjoy some interactive experiences and take a photo with a large snake or lizard and feed a big ol tortoise and be amazing at some unique species you may never see anywhere else. We look to start taking surrenders and allowing adoptions (within law and expertise) of creatures we get calls for to give them a new lease on life. Now who I am well I am a former Animal Control Officer and Wildlife Tech whom studied herpetology and a major enthusiast of the exotic. I have dealt with things from bearded dragon to alligators you name it! I want to share my wildlife experience and knowledge with you and assist my community the best way I can so please check us out and give us a shout out!

As 2024 comes to an end, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey Scale World Order has taken this year and express my deepest gratitude to everyone who made it possible.

First, to my incredible team you are the backbone of Scale World Order. Your hard work, creativity, and passion have turned this vision into a reality. Whether it was preparing for events, caring for the animals, or connecting with the public, you gave it your all, and it shows in everything we’ve achieved together. I couldn’t have done this without you, and I’m so proud of what we’ve built.

To the supporters who have followed us, attended our events, and championed our mission: thank you for believing in Scale World Order. Your excitement and encouragement have kept us motivated every step of the way. Seeing the smiles on faces, the curiosity sparked, and the connections made has been the most rewarding part of this journey.

To the venues that partnered with us, opening their doors and giving us a platform to share our passion: we couldn’t have reached so many people without your support. Your trust and collaboration have been instrumental in helping us spread our message and bring the magic of reptiles and amphibians to life.

And to Volo Museum Jurassic Gardens, a very special thank you. Your partnership has been transformative. Hosting events at your venue has allowed us to reach new heights, and your team’s kindness, generosity, and belief in our mission have left an incredible mark on what we do. You’ve gone above and beyond to support us, and your efforts have made a lasting impact on the success of Scale World Order. I am deeply grateful for everything you’ve done to help this project thrive.

As we look to 2025, I’m filled with excitement and hope for what’s next. None of this would have been possible without all of you my team, our supporters, the venues, and especially Volo Museum. Thank you for making this year unforgettable and for helping Scale World Order grow into something truly special.

'TWAS THE COLD BLOODED NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS AT SCALE WORLD ORDER

☃️❄️🎁🎄🎅🦌🧑‍🎄🛷🕯️❄️⛄🌲🍪🌟🌨️🤶💡🧑‍🎄
'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the lair,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a Bearded Dragon's glare.
Its beard puffed out proudly, like a festive display,
As it basked in the warmth of its sun's gentle ray.
Its scales shimmered golden, each one gleaming bright,
A sight of pure wonder in the soft, peaceful night.

The stockings were hung by the terrariums with care,
In hopes that sweet feeders soon would be there.

The Tegus were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of eggs danced in their heads.
The Argus Monitor basked by the glow of its light,
Dreaming of fuzzies to devour by night.

The Sulcata Tortoise burrowed deep in its den,
Awaiting the sunrise when the feast would begin.
A Snapping Turtle paddled, stealthy and slow,
Through waters as cold as a crisp winter snow.

The Mata Mata Turtle lounged in disguise,
Its leaf-like head fooling the unwary eyes.
Nearby a Carpet Python coiled tight in its lair,
Awaiting a meal it could sn**ch from the air.

An Anaconda rested, its presence so grand,
Radiating power that commanded the land.
The Ball Python curled in its familiar pose,
Content in its hide, where no one goes.

A Boa Constrictor slithered, its scales shining bright,
Exploring its space in the calm of the night.
The Kingsnake moved with a purpose unseen,
Its bands of color a dazzling sheen.

An Axolotl floated in its aquatic domain,
Unfazed by the chill of the winter rain.
The rats in their cages, snug and at ease,
Curled up together, no longer to flee.

A Cherryhead Tortoise nibbled at hay,
Its vibrant shell glowing, a festive display.
A Leopard Gecko climbed with delicate grace,
Its bright spotted tail lighting the space.

The Water Monitor strutted with regal delight,
Its forked tongue flickering in the pale moonlight.
A Rhino Iguana stood proud and tall,
Surveying its kingdom, the master of all.

An Albino Burmese Python gleamed in the glow,
Its scale so bright, it stole the show.
Nearby, a Hypo Burmese coiled with flair,
Its pastel tones soft as winter air.
A Granite Burmese lay with intricate spots,
Its pattern unique, like festive polka dots.

A Leachianus Gecko clung to its perch,
Its toes gripping firmly, an arboreal search.
Pink and Black Slider Turtles shared their domain,
Basking together near a glass windowpane.

A Rainbow Boa shimmered with iridescent glow,
A living rainbow in the candlelight's show.
The Tokay Gecko leapt, its colors alive,
Its call breaking silence at quarter past five.

The Black Throat Monitor rested with might,
Its powerful tail curled snugly and tight.
The Russian Tortoise burrowed deep in the sand,
Content in its home, its Christmas Eve land.

A Pixie Frog croaked from its swampy domain,
Its wide, bulbous eyes watching the rain.
Its skin so vibrant, its presence so grand,
A marvel of nature in the holiday land.

A Tarantula spun snowflakes in the air,
Its legs delicate, with meticulous care.
Weaving its web, a silken delight,
Adding a touch of magic to the night.

The Reticulated Python, longest of all,
Loomed quietly, regal, standing tall.
Its scales shimmering like stars in the sky,
As it silently slithered, so gracefully sly.

And watching it all with its ancient guise,
An Alligator lay with sharp, gleaming eyes.
Its tail stretched long, its patience supreme,
A guardian of this reptilian dream.

And as the reptiles and amphibians dreamed,
Their habitats glistened, each lovingly cleaned.
From all at Scale World Order, a joyous sight,
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”

🦎 🥶 THE COLDEST OF COLD BLOODED ❄️🐍

Did you know that some reptiles can survive in frigid, freezing temperatures? Even though they're cold-blooded and rely on external warmth, these amazing creatures have evolved to endure extreme cold! Let's meet some of the coldest-temp-living reptiles on the planet:

--------------------------------------------------

🐢 Coldest Turtle: The Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta)

Record Temp: Hatchlings can survive as low as -10°C (14°F)!

How They Do It: These little warriors produce antifreeze-like proteins in their blood. This allows their bodies to partially freeze while protecting vital organs. Nature’s little icebreakers!

--------------------------------------------------

🐍 Coldest Snake: The Common European Adder (Vipera berus)

Record Temp: Survives sub-zero winters near the Arctic Circle!

How They Do It: These snakes hibernate in frost-free underground burrows, slowing their metabolism to conserve energy during the harshest months.

--------------------------------------------------

🦎 Coldest Lizard: The Viviparous Lizard (Zootoca vivipara)

Record Temp: Thrives in areas where temps drop below -40°C (-40°F)!

How They Do It: This incredible lizard gives birth to live young, bypassing the need to lay eggs in frozen ground. They hibernate during winter and emerge ready for action!

--------------------------------------------------

🐊 Coldest Crocodilian: The American Alligator (Alligator mississippiensis)

Record Temp: Survives below -2°C (28°F) during cold snaps in the U.S.!

How They Do It: Alligators use a technique called “icing” they stick their snouts above frozen water to breathe while brumating below the surface.

--------------------------------------------------

🌎 Cold-Blooded, Warm-Hearted

Reptiles may be ectothermic, but their survival strategies are nothing short of brilliant. From antifreeze proteins to hibernation, they’ve mastered the art of thriving in extreme environments.

Stay tuned for more fascinating facts and insights into the amazing lives of reptiles. If you have questions, want to book an educational program, or just want to say hi, we’d love to hear from you!

❤️ 🦎 CALCIUM GOOD FOR THE BODY 🐢 ❤️

Calcium is a vital nutrient for reptiles, essential for bone health, muscle function, and overall well-being. Since reptiles cannot synthesize calcium internally, they rely on their diet and UVB exposure to maintain proper levels.

--------------------------------------------------

WHY DO REPTILES NEED CALCIUM?

🦴 Bone Growth and Strength:
Calcium is the primary component of bones and teeth.

A deficiency can lead to weak, brittle bones or metabolic bone disease (MBD).

💪 Muscle Function:
Calcium enables proper muscle contractions, including the heart and digestive muscles.

🥚 Egg Production:
Female reptiles require extra calcium during egg-laying to produce strong eggshells.

--------------------------------------------------

HOW DO REPTILES GET CALCIUM?

🍽️ DIET:

🦗 Insectivores: Feed calcium-dusted insects (e.g., crickets, mealworms).

🌿 Herbivores: Provide calcium-rich greens like collard greens, kale, and dandelion leaves.

🍖 Carnivores: Whole prey (e.g., mice) naturally contains calcium.

💊 SUPPLEMENTS:

Powdered calcium is often sprinkled on food to ensure adequate intake.

💡UVB LIGHT:

UVB helps reptiles synthesize vitamin D3, which is crucial for calcium absorption.

Without UVB, even a calcium-rich diet can lead to deficiencies.

--------------------------------------------------

🚨 SIGNS OF CALCIUM DEFICIENCY! 🚨

🦎 Lethargy or weakness

🐢 Tremors or twitching

🐍 Swollen limbs or jaw (rubber jaw syndrome)

🐊 Shell deformities in turtles/tortoises

🦎 Difficulty moving or climbing

--------------------------------------------------

TIPS FOR PROPER CALCIUM MANAGEMENT

1. Balance Calcium and Phosphorus:
Aim for a calcium-to-phosphorus ratio of 2:1 in your reptile's diet to optimize absorption.

2. Provide D3 When Needed:
Reptiles without UVB light may need supplements with D3.

3. Regular Vet Checkups:
Annual exams help monitor your reptile’s bone health.

--------------------------------------------------

In Conclusion
By ensuring a proper calcium intake and UVB exposure, you can help your reptiles thrive and avoid serious health issues like MBD.
Calcium is a cornerstone of good health for reptiles, playing a crucial role in their growth, bone strength, and overall well-being. By providing a balanced diet, proper supplements, and access to UVB light, you can ensure your scaly friends stay happy and healthy. At Scale World Order, we’re passionate about educating others on the needs of reptiles and promoting their care and conservation.
