Insulated tray stand update.

Added aluminum foil "funnel" to the dome, sacrificed 2 trays on bottom to add insulation panels to help maintain heat. Added a timer. On at 8 pm off at 10 am. Worms are going better !

With a 75 watt heat bulb, insulation panels and draped with moving blankets, the top reached 76 and the bottom was 58. Not bad.

So, I stapled double moving blankets around 3 sides of the stands, cut a blanket to place underneath on the floor. Closed it up and draped more blankets on the outside.

Here's hoping for better bottom temps , lol

Building the shelf unit was the 1st project in order to organize all the worm farming stuff.

Next up was to build a insulated box for the mortar tray stands. Definitely not perfect, but it will work for this winter. I may reinforce it at a later date.

Worm farming to me is always being adaptable to changes.

Nothing like worm farm chores!

This is how I tackle those bins that need to be harvested, but no time today.

Pull half to one side, add dry carboard, dry leaves and dry rabbit manure. Rake over. Repeat o other side. Wait 1 to 2 weeks, harvest, then reset.

The end of 7 years of raising rabbits ended this evening with Bivens Homestead getting the last 5 rabbits.

We have settled on a mutually beneficial deal. All my rabbit stuff for all her rabbit manure for the next 1.5 years.

I really encourage elders out there to pass along knowledge and to help the younger generations to succeed in their dreams. It is very rewarding for both sides!
