Chopped apples. I feed cocoon buckets this. Yes, I bought food for the worm farm. It equals out to $1.10 per bucket. Each bucket has 650+ cocoons. 650 = 1/4 pound of worms. Easy peasy worm farming for this old gal !!

Layered inside with "overs", rabbit manure, wet shredded cardboard, frozen apple chunks and powered eggshells. Ambient temp range 71 to 73 degrees.

Harvested 6 half barrels yesterday and reset back up. These had only ran for 3 to 3.5 months.

Had about 15 gallons of overs to put back in other bins. Almost 20 gallons of sifted castings.

Used some of the overs in the Urban Worm Bags along with some frozen pumpkin. I'll go through the castings and retrieve cocoons in a few days.

And just like that a huge reduction in the rabbitry gone. Sold a nice start up to a guy today. 14 does, 30 babies, 14 growouts ready for processing and 1 buck. Also, 3 sets of cages. I kept 5 does, 1 buck and 15 babies. What a day!! Onto the next chapter in my life...more worms lol

You can barely hear me.. Ingredients: 11 gallons of non chlorinated water 1/2 gallon worm castings 2 tlbs kelp meal 2 tlbs fish hydrolysate Handful of straw Will aerate for 36 hrs then apply as a soil drench for veggie plants.

Due to my last post of searching for an apprentice to breed worms... I managed to get several people wanting to learn more about vermicomposting instead... lol My philosophy is this....I have some knowledge and I want to share..so I will help assist all who ask ( even if it wasn't for what I asked for😉) Now in saying this I started looking for people close to where others are and I am dismayed by some websites wanting to disclose transparency in getting their castings tested....WHAT are they posting you ask? Test results that DO NOT show the microbiological contents....worm castings, (vermicompost, vermicast) DOES NOT and NEVER will compare to a SOIL TEST... PLEASE do not try to blow smoke (or waste $$) on testing for things that do not mimic what vermicompost IS and what it can do for your soil. Beautiful nematode shown below...
