Bear is 7ish years old. He was a stray many years in his past. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines. We were told that a new groomer shaved him to the skin without permission, and his fur is growing in.

He is housebroken, good with cats/dogs, and older kids. Good in the car and in the leash.

He is looking for a new home because he growls at their toddler.

Goose is a Hilltop boy bred and trained by us as a puppy then continued his training as he grew up with a dear friend of ours, working on her Farm.

Goose is neutered, up-to-date on everything, and an excellent livestock guardian! He adores his flock of sheep, is great with horses, cattle, goats, chickens, cats, other working Great Pyrs, and people as well!

He requires a working farm with livestock to protect, excellent fencing, and people who will give him some love daily. As you can see in the pictures he is affectionate but please don't mistake that for less of a livestock guardian. Goose is serious about his job. Many predators have lost their lives on his guard. He works well in a pack of Pyrs. We can discuss in more detail how he would fit into your pack if that is something you're interested in.

Please contact us for any questions you may have but serious inquiries only please. Good fencing is a must. If a dog can climb over, under, or go through your fence it most likely needs some work.

Happy Father's Day!! This is our Daddy and he is just incredible!

The one thing you can count on raising livestock and dogs is constant surprises, changes, and solutions to find. I don't want to discount all the fun and joy either. As you can see, this morning, when I walked out to check on everyone, Shelby, one of our kunekune pigs, was laying in front of the puppy door which means they couldn't get out. In a week they will be able to crawl right through the gap but for the meantime they have a special door just for them so they can safely come and go from their stall whenever they like without other animals getting in. Why Shelby chose to lay on their front porch, I cannot tell you, but she is very fond of the puppies. They love her, and she loves them. Some of you may be concerned that pigs are dangerous. This breed is amazing! They are gentle, slow, and calm. They don't root. They're not destructive, and they will do just about anything for a belly rub. They are a lot like cats without the attitude. They love to cuddle with other livestock as well as each other, and they are happy for the puppies to crawl all over them, free massages! Kunekune Pigs are from New Zealand. Kunekune means fat and round in the Maori language. We raise every litter of puppies with the pigs and every litter of piglets with the dogs. This way, the dogs grow up with an affection for pigs, and the pigs are comforted by the affection and protection the dogs provide. They literally love each other! Our Story

Welcome to Hilltop Guardian Great Pyrenees’ page! The Majestic Great Pyrenees are massive, fiercely protective, yet gentle Live Stock Guardian Dogs. We love this breed for it's loyalty and grace. Happily utilized as working dogs and devoted family pets, "Hilltop Guardian Great Pyrenees", are excellent at protecting their herd of goats, pasture/forested pigs, free range chickens, and children. The Great Pyrenees' devotion to its family is incomparable.

We are a dedicated AKC Great Pyrenees breeders with a focus on Livestock Guardians and Great Pyrenees well-being including rescue and rehabilitation. We are located in the Smokey Mountains of beautiful East Tennessee. Our farm was established in 2007. Our Pyrs enjoy ranging acres of pasture land and mountain side while guarding and protecting their herd and humans. We do not kennel our dogs. We have a backgrounds in animal husbandry and I have a B.S. from Auburn University in Animal/Dairy Science Pre-Vet. I spent many years working in the medical/veterinary fields.

A Great Pyrenees is not for every family or individual depending on circumstance, as they are instinctively driven. We encourage all potential owners to research the breed. We welcome questions! For those who value their amazing traits and understand them, this relationship is exceptional. We encourage visits to our farm for those interested in becoming a Hilltop Guardian Great Pyrenees owner. It is important to us to develop good relationships with our puppy owners now and in to the future. We do this by offering education, experience, and being available before, during, and after a Hilltop Guardian Great Pyrenees is placed with a family or farm.
