If you are a 501c3 nonprofit rescue in good standing, We would love to work with you! As a Partner organization, you can tag and pull dogs from the Waco Animal Shelter, and that helps us to save lives! To request a tag on an animal or for more information, email [email protected] or text 254-750-7093 with the animal's A number, and include the date and time you would like to pick up. Your tag must

be confirmed by the Animal Rescue Liaison via text or email before you pick up. Our goal is to save animals so please be kind when you comment on our posts. Inappropriate comments, bullying, and disparaging comments about HSCTX, the City of Waco, or our rescue partners will be removed, and the offender may be banned from the page. Inappropriate conduct may also result in the termination of the rescue agreement between that rescue and HSCTX.

This big mama is a severely malnourished Great Dane mix that is trying to nurse 6 puppies. We are worried about 2 of her puppies making it and are desperately trying to find them fosters.

Mom is terrified of people, but she isn’t snappy and will let us handle her babies. It doesn’t seem like she’s ever had a loving touch. 💔

We can’t get over how handsome is! We believe that Beluga is an Akbash mix and his heart is as big as he is! He’s heartworm negative, dog friendly, and is ready for cuddles! He is a highly adoptable dog that would be perfect for an active family.

We need rescue partners to help dogs like Beluga that are staying at the City of Waco Animal Shelter. We have many highly adoptable dogs that are ready to leave for today and WE ARE FULL! We have no open kennels for large breed dogs and we are desperate for help.

came in starved and heartbroken with her brother Atlas. It has been a while since we’ve seen a dog so horrifically thin. Even so, Gracie managed to get everyone she met today to fall madly in love with her.

Thank you to Tena Price and for taking her in. As soon as we called, you guys were on it. Now Gracie will never know hardship every again.

🚨Rescue Needed!

This little puppy came in to the Waco Animal Shelter unable to move or hold his head up. He has feeling in all his little legs so we know that he is just so very weak. We’re unsure of how he came to be like this. All we care about now is giving him his best shot at life.

He tested negative for parvo and is receiving fluids.

Today was an emotional day at ! 23 of our pride-and-joys went to 3 of our rescue partners in Wisconsin and Ohio.

A lot of love, sweat, and tears went into making sure this transport was successful and it went off without a hitch.

Thank you to our Rescue Partners Charlie’s Wish Animal Rescue, , and for stepping up to save 23 lives.

Thank you to for transporting our babies and for being so patient with us as we planned this.

Thank you to our AMAZING volunteers for helping us load up and making sure every one of the dogs got a potty break.

Thank you to for being the best rescue volunteer a rescue coordinator could ask for. ❤️

Kristin told us that this moment was the first time that Speedy allowed her to cuddle him in the 3 years that they’ve known each other. 😭

We’re so happy to have a family of dedicated dog people who are willing to give these babies all the chances in the world to experience love.

Speedy and his sister have been in and out of the Waco Animal Shelter since 2019. They have been a little troubled in the past few years that they’ve been with us, but with this visit, they seem to understand that we’re only here to love and help them.

A special thank you to our #rescue volunteer @marjorieseith for making this super sweet #tiktok or our #Zain. Zain is our 2nd #LongestResident and is one of the most overlooked dogs at the #Waco Animal Shelter. He has been in the facility’s care for more than 7 months and has only had 2 families interested in him. All that time and only TWO FAMILIES. 💔 We just don’t understand. He is very smart and is willing to learn! He’s been to some training classes and has been fabulous. But still, no one seems to notice him no matter how hard he works. It hurts our hearts. Our sweet #deaf boy #Mateo had a blast in his first playgroup! We believe that #Mateo is a double-merle #cattledog mix. He’s an 8-month-old #puppy that is full of energy! He is vision impaired. One eye is underdeveloped and we believe he can’t see at all out of it.
