Sorry for being a little MIA. My daughter was sick and at her urgent care last week, and this week it was me but… I want everyone to meet Quincy. He was born 12/31 with a cleft pallet. (It’s not the kind where he is deformed, it’s where the roof of his mouth just did not fully close). In these cases, I usually surrender them (due to them not being able to suck) but they were closed on New Year’s and so I started syringe feeding him and he was thriving, so I decided to give it a go this way. If he starts to decline, I will end up surrendering him but until then, I will continue to get up every 2 hours to feed this little guy. Please keep him in your prayers. Usually in these kinds of cases, a couple things can happen… 1) it could most likely close up 2) he can have surgery to close the gap or 3) just live with a gap.
