Alright folks, thats a wrap. The salon is officially closed down. Thank you for trusting me to take care of your fur babies. Ive met a lot of really great people over the years.
Im really hoping to sell the house and salon to another groomer so they can just take it over but we'll see. Ill post updates on that here as soon as i know more. Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas.

I've been pretty emotional this week saying my goodbyes to my amazing clients. This one hit different though. Maggie's dad started bringing her to me when I was fresh out of grooming school. My skills were less than ok but Brad trusted me with his sweet girl and she has helped me become the groomer I am today. Maggie I'm going to miss you so much, you have been the sweetest girl to work with. Brad, thank you for trusting me to take care of your girl and for being a great friend 🧡

Now that the cat is out of the bag I feel the need to make a post about what is going on. As of December 21, 2024 i am closing the salon permanently.
I wasn't going to make a big in depth post but the more I thought about it I figured if I say what's on my mind, maybe it will help others in the future. Here's the truth yall...
I'm tired. I started this business 4 years ago with the intention that working from home would be good for my family. I wanted the luxury of making my own schedule to accommodate my families needs.
There are 2 main reasons why I am closing down.
1. My family needs me. My son needs me. My son only sees me when I'm getting ready for work and when my day is finished. There are times that I only have time to put him to bed by the time everyone goes home and the salon is clean. He is going through a tough time right now and he needs his mama. More than anything though, I need to be closer to him. Ive been split in half for a while. 1 foot in mom world, 1 foot in business world. My kid deserves a better version of me than what he has had.
2. A few bad rotten pieces of fruit ruin the whole basket. For the most part I have really really amazing clients (people and animals) i love the relationship I have built with most of them. We've laughed together, cried together, talked about our families and our troubles as well a relished over our accomplishments.
Here's the crap I deal with on the daily though...
*People no showing(again and again and again) *Showing up late then wanting their dog done on time
*Talking down to me
*Bullying me
*Complaining about my pricing, (I couldnt imagine going into someone else's place of work and telling them they don't deserve their wage. Keep in mind, I make 50% commission. Even though I own the business, half of what I make goes back into the business to cover, taxes, insurance, product, electricity, maintaining and upgrading equipment, etc.)
*Complaining and nit picking haircuts
*Wanting me to bend over backwards to accommodate their own families schedule
*Using me as a daycare
*Dealing with aggressive dogs or matted dogs then wondering why the haircut isnt perfect or why the price is more
*People beating and screaming at their dogs in front of me
*Showing up before their dog is done then coming in and getting their dog excited so then I can't finish
*Blowing up my phone wondering if their dog is done yet (heaven forbid i try to use the bathroom or eat something during the day)
*Messaging me during holidays then screaming at me bc I didn't get right back to them
*Calling me on a Sunday night and demanding an appointment the next day
These are just a few examples of the crap I deal with every. single. day.
I've tried to w**d out the bad ones but I've found out that every bad client you fire, you end up with another one. I've spent so much time crying over everything trying to make sense of people treating me this way but at the end of the day there are good people and there are selfish people.
I'm blown away and quite disturbed with the entitlement people have these days. People have no respect and they act like we owe them something. I'll tell ya right now, the only people I owe anything to is my own family.
I am a people pleaser by fault and it is my fault I've allowed so many people to take advantage of my kindness. I won't make that mistake again.
Please take from this a learning lesson to treat your next groomer with respect.

I appreciate those that have sent kind heartfelt messages and those that have literally cried with me when I told you what was going on. (Yall know who you are) You are my people. You are the ones that have helped me make it this long. I love you guys and if you ever need anything I'm here for ya.

Just found this. Sonny got ahold of my phone and somehow captured the perfect moment about us discussing how amazing my clients and community is.

(Don't mind my voice I was holding back tears the whole time) Seriously though, im AMAZED at the amount of love and support we got. When I came up with this idea I wasn't sure what I was in for. This has been so emotional watching my community, my clients and my friends come together to help out. I've shed tears of sadness and joy throughout this process. I wish I could thank you all individually. It really does take a village. I'll be dropping everything off tomorrow, just in time for Christmas. Praying these donations will help take some stress away and Praying the new year brings them, joy, happiness and a fresh start!
