Important reminder regarding DNA!

On January 1, 2026, all heifers showing at MHBA sanctioned shows must have a DNA profile on file with complete parentage verification (dam and sire verification) with the American Hereford Association.

What You Need To Do:

☑Begin reviewing your herd to make sure sires and dams have DNA on file to ensure parent verification can be completed.

☑When purchasing new animals, always verify their DNA status.

☑Note: All steers and bulls are currently required to have a completed DNA profile with sire and dam verification to be eligible to show at MHBA sanctioned shows.

Don't wait—start the process now to avoid any last-minute issues!

So here is our dilemma.. Clarabelle, our mama cow, was 8 days overdo. We haven't had rain in months, but yesterday we had a nice shower!! In the middle of the storm this little guy decided it was time to meet the rest of the herd. Hes pretty big, but was born unassisted. Mama and baby are doing great!
So as for a name Shirlene and I are undecided. She wants to name him Zeus, (the Greek god of storms), I want to name him Moose (cause he's a big fella)! So she agreed to have it put to a vote. So what y’all think? Moose or Zeus?
