Fat Cat Rescue Our vision is a community where every animal is cared for. We have received our 501C3 non-profit tax status and now all donations are tax deductible.

FAT CAT RESCUE is a 501C3 licensed rescue for all types of animals who are lucky enough to come through our doors. When cats come to us they may be sick and skinny, but by the time we've loved them up they have become Fat Cats with healthy bodies, higher self esteem, greater trust in humans and a joy of living they haven't experienced in a long time if ever. So when we call a cat "Fat" we mean healthy and happy in every way possible.

🌸 Meet Callie – The Sweetest Mama Cat! 🌸

Callie is a loving, friendly cat currently raising eight little kittens in her foster home! She adores attention, follows her foster mom, Meagan, around the house, and is always on the lookout for pets and love. ❤️ Oh, and let’s not forget—she loves her food (nursing eight babies is hard work!).

While Callie is still busy caring for her kittens, she’s available for meet-and-greets now and will be ready to go to her forever home once her babies are weaned. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion, Callie could be the perfect cat for you!

🍀 St. Patrick’s Day & the Mystical Cats of Ireland 🍀

As we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate Ireland’s rich folklore—especially its tales of cait sidhe (pronounced "caught shee"), the legendary fairy cats!

In Irish mythology, the cait sidhe were large black cats with a white spot on their chests, said to be magical creatures from the Otherworld. Some believed they were enchanted witches who could transform nine times, while others thought they were guardians of ancient secrets. These mystical felines were known to bring blessings—or mischief—depending on how they were treated!

Cats have long been a part of Irish history, too. The Book of Kells, one of Ireland’s most famous medieval manuscripts, includes illustrations of cats, showing their importance in monastic life. And let’s not forget Pangur Bán, the beloved white cat immortalized in a 9th-century Irish poem by a monk who admired his feline companion’s hunting skills.

Today, let’s raise a glass (or a bowl of milk!) to the legendary cats of Ireland. May your St. Patrick’s Day be filled with luck, mystery, and maybe even a little cait sidhe magic!

Adoption Update: Cherish (aka Baby Girl)!

Our sweet calico girl, Cherish, is living her best life with her mom, Susie! Now lovingly nicknamed “Baby Girl,” she has settled in beautifully and claimed the entire living room as her personal playground—complete with toys and tunnels galore.

She’s an energetic little lady who LOVES to play but is just as happy snuggling up with her mom. Baby Girl has also taken on the very important role of household alarm clock, making sure Susie knows when it’s time to get up (and when her food bowl needs a refill!).

Her confidence is shining, too! When a full house of family gathered for dinner, Cherish was right in the mix, happily seeking attention like the social butterfly she’s becoming. And at the end of the day, she curls up in bed with her mom, her super-soft fur and purrs making her the perfect cuddle companion.

We’re so happy for Baby Girl and her mom! Wishing them a lifetime of love, snuggles, and playtime. ❤️🐾

Cheeto Has a Pending Adoption! 🧡

From heartbreak to hope—our big, beautiful orange boy Cheeto is on his way to finding his forever home! 🏡✨ Just days ago, he was abandoned outside, left to fend for himself, and then brought to us. Cheeto is now safe, neutered, and on the verge of a whole new life.

This sweet, gentle boy captured our hearts the moment he arrived, and now he’s captured someone else’s, too! If all goes well, Cheeto will soon be snuggling up in a home where he’ll never have to worry about being left behind again. 💛

Adoption Update: Lala Link!

Remember Lala Link, the tiny kitten who got stuck in a chain-link fence and nearly lost her leg? She’s now thriving in her forever home, and her family couldn’t be happier!

Her mom shares:

"Lala is doing great!! She has settled in amazingly. She is so sweet, fun-loving, rambunctious, and the ultimate cuddle bug! She’s a total mama’s girl, loves her big doggy sister, and has even won over her kitty sister. Mini (our other kitty) is learning to play with Lala, and it’s incredible to witness!

Lala also loves playing with John’s three boys and is best friends with the oldest, who showers her with cuddles when he’s here. No issues with her leg at all—she fits into our family perfectly!"

We love hearing these updates! Lala’s journey from rescue to recovery to the perfect forever home is exactly why we do what we do.

The Flower Kittens Turn One! 🌸🎉

Lori, one of our amazing kitten fosters, sent us a wonderful update—her foster babies from last spring just celebrated their first birthday! 🥳

Happy Birthday to Lily, Cosmo, Willow, and Ivy (some have new names now, but they’re still just as loved!). These once-tiny kittens are now thriving in their forever homes, and we couldn’t be happier for them. 💕

A huge thank you to Lori for giving them such a great start in life and to their adopters for giving them the loving homes they deserve. Here's to many more happy years! 🎂🐾
