(607)

Oahu SPCA was founded to save the lives of companion animals across the islands of Hawaii and became the first no-kill animal shelter in Hawaii's history. For 15 years, Oahu SPCA has dared to challenge the status quo by improving the lives of homeless, feral, abandoned, and abused dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies throughout Hawaii. In doing this work, the Oahu SPCA became much more than the state’

s first and only no-kill animal shelter. The Oahu SPCA is a community center where families come together, volunteer, and learn what it means to be a responsible pet owner. Oahu SPCA also provides the lowest cost sterilization and veterinary services available to the public and has been humanely reducing the homeless pet population by doing so.

Taco & Nori were stood up today. Our staff was so excited, telling them all day their family would be picking them up. And that adoptive family never showed. 🥺😔

If you’re looking for the best duo….here it is⬇️

Meet Nori and Taco, a dynamic duo of adorable doggy siblings looking for their forever home! ✨

Nori, the playful 4-year-old sister, is full of energy and loves to explore the world around her. She’s curious, friendly, and always up for a game of fetch or a cuddle session. Taco, her 7-year-old brother, is the perfect balance—wise, laid-back, and incredibly sweet. He’s the one who’ll happily snuggle next to you after a fun day of adventure.🥰

These two are more than just siblings—they are best friends and are inseparable! They’ve spent their lives together, and now they’re hoping to find a loving home where they can stay side by side forever. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a nap on the couch, or just hanging out, Nori and Taco are always there for each other—and they can’t wait to be there for you too! 🏡

If you’re looking for a pair of loyal, lovable companions, these two are the perfect match. Please consider adopting them together—they promise to fill your life with love and laughter.🥹

Aloha, I’m Abbott! I’ve been at the shelter for over 1,000 days, and while the staff here are wonderful, I’m more than ready to find my forever home where I can truly shine. I might be a little shy at first, but once I warm up to you, I promise I’ll be your loyal companion 💕

I adore other cats, so if you have some feline friends already, I’ll fit right in. In my foster home, I discovered my love for being pet and brushed. There’s nothing more relaxing than a grooming session with someone who understands the importance of patience. I’m looking for a calm, loving home that will give me the time and space I need to feel comfortable 🐾

I’m also pretty cool with dogs who respect my space, so if you have a furry friend who will give me room to adjust, we will get along just fine✅

I know my perfect family is out there, and I can’t wait to meet you. Please apply to adopt me—I’m ready to leave the shelter behind and start the next chapter of my life! Let’s make it happen!

Abbott—The cat who just needs a little time to steal your heart 💙

Wobble, Rocker, Flop, Glitch, Leap, Sway, Twitch, & Patch are purrfect and ready for their furrrever homes😻

They all have CH AKA wobbly cat syndrome. “CH” in cats stands for “Cerebellar Hypoplasia,” which is a neurological condition where the cerebellum part of the brain doesn’t develop properly, leading to poor coordination, balance issues, and a “wobbly” gait. 🧠

Thankfully, this doesnt affect their overall health too much. They just need adopters who are committed to adjusting some things around the house so that they can thrive in their new homes! They will require shallow litter boxes that are easy to get in and out of, shallow dishes, no stairs (or baby gates blocking all stairs), etc. They can fall easily so making sure they are safe is the most important thing for their adopters to know! ✅

We are the sweetest cats & can’t wait to find our forever homes. Our friends at the shelter would be happy to talk more or answer any questions adopters may have! Apply to take us home today! 🏡

Our Story

The Oahu Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was founded in April 2009, based on a no-kill philosophy. In our first three months we were thrown into a large scale sheltering operation completing the the largest rescue in Hawaii's history. We rescue animals suffering from abuse, neglect and abandonment all over the island each day. More than 20 dogs and cats are rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed each week. We care for approximately 65 dogs and 100 cats per day, including spay/neutering, micro chipping and medical & behavioral rehabilitation in preparation for adoption. With the help of generous supporters such as yourself and the assistance of over 2,000 volunteers, the Oahu SPCA was able to save more than 1,400 animals within the first year. Our large volunteer force helps guarantee that most of the funds received go to the care and treatment of our rescued animals. As a result of the Ma’ili Point Rescue and the sub-sequent intakes, we have more than 200 animals to care for in our 20,000 square foot facility. Eventually we hope to provide low-cost or no-cost sterilization to the public and emergency care for our rescues. Our goal is to gather 200 sponsors to cover monthly expenses for every dog and cat in our shelter.

The Oahu SPCA is a "no-kill shelter," meaning that we do not euthanize because of lack of time or shelter space. The only time euthanasia is even considered is for animals who are in pain with untreatable illness, terminally ill, or even after behavioral modification therapy and medical treatment are still considered to be too dangerous to be around humans and other animals.
