(599)

Oahu SPCA was founded to save the lives of companion animals across the islands of Hawaii and became the first no-kill animal shelter in Hawaii's history. For 15 years, Oahu SPCA has dared to challenge the status quo by improving the lives of homeless, feral, abandoned, and abused dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies throughout Hawaii. In doing this work, the Oahu SPCA became much more than the state’

s first and only no-kill animal shelter. The Oahu SPCA is a community center where families come together, volunteer, and learn what it means to be a responsible pet owner. Oahu SPCA also provides the lowest cost sterilization and veterinary services available to the public and has been humanely reducing the homeless pet population by doing so.

Over the weekend, Oahu SPCA saved 2 puppies from an unthinkable tragedy — a burning car near a houseless camp on the east side, where a litter of small puppies had been living.

💔 Several puppies from the litter did not survive, including two that were rushed to the ER alongside our brave duo.

Sadly, Phoenix and Valor are the only survivors, but we are so thankful that they are here with us.

They are receiving around-the-clock medical care, pain management, and supportive treatment to heal from smoke inhalation and burns. These little warriors are showing us the true meaning of resilience. ✨

But they need YOU. 💙

Oahu SPCA’s fundraising goal to rehabilitate these miraculous survivors is $3500 to help cover immediate medical expenses. Every dollar makes a difference in helping them fight for the future they deserve.

🙏 Please donate today and share their story. Together, we can give Phoenix and Valor the second chance their siblings never had.

You can donate easily via this fundraiser on social media, via our website at https://oahuspca.org/donate or via Venmo by searching

We are seeking fosters for two tiny, 5-week-old puppies who have already endured more than most animals ever should.

These babies, that we named Phoenix and Valor, were rescued from a burning vehicle — and though they miraculously survived, they are now in critical need of compassionate, committed fosters to help them begin healing.

They are too fragile to stay in the shelter overnight and must be placed immediately to ensure their safety, comfort, and survival.

🐾 What They Need:
Fosters who can monitor their eating habits closely. These puppies are young and vulnerable — we need to make sure they’re gaining weight and getting stronger each day.

Glove-only handling is required. Their burns are being treated, and we must prevent infection and irritation during recovery.

Able to bring them back every 3–5 days for veterinary rechecks and weigh-ins. Regular check-ins are critical to monitor their progress and adjust care plans.

A safe, calm space where they can rest and recover. Minimal stress and lots of love will help them heal.

🧡 What You Provide:
A clean, quiet space
Time and attention to their needs
Transportation for medical check-ups
Willingness to follow medical handling protocols
Love, patience, and a gentle touch

💊 What We Provide:
All medical care & supplies
Ongoing support from our team
Detailed instructions for their care
A direct contact for questions or concerns

These puppies have already survived the unimaginable — now, they need someone like you to help them feel safe, cared for, and loved as they begin the long journey of healing.

Please don’t wait. They can not stay here tonight.
Fostering saves lives — and tonight, that life could be one of theirs.

Here's how you can help:
-Fill out a foster form on our website, Oahuspca.org
-Consider donating to fund their care. 🫶

Our Story

The Oahu Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was founded in April 2009, based on a no-kill philosophy. In our first three months we were thrown into a large scale sheltering operation completing the the largest rescue in Hawaii's history. We rescue animals suffering from abuse, neglect and abandonment all over the island each day. More than 20 dogs and cats are rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed each week. We care for approximately 65 dogs and 100 cats per day, including spay/neutering, micro chipping and medical & behavioral rehabilitation in preparation for adoption. With the help of generous supporters such as yourself and the assistance of over 2,000 volunteers, the Oahu SPCA was able to save more than 1,400 animals within the first year. Our large volunteer force helps guarantee that most of the funds received go to the care and treatment of our rescued animals. As a result of the Ma’ili Point Rescue and the sub-sequent intakes, we have more than 200 animals to care for in our 20,000 square foot facility. Eventually we hope to provide low-cost or no-cost sterilization to the public and emergency care for our rescues. Our goal is to gather 200 sponsors to cover monthly expenses for every dog and cat in our shelter.

The Oahu SPCA is a "no-kill shelter," meaning that we do not euthanize because of lack of time or shelter space. The only time euthanasia is even considered is for animals who are in pain with untreatable illness, terminally ill, or even after behavioral modification therapy and medical treatment are still considered to be too dangerous to be around humans and other animals.
