Hey everyone! Hope you're enjoying your spring so far and everyone's been healthy.

I just wanted to let you know that I'll be shutting down thebarkinbobbin website in late June. So if you want to order a mask, a scrunchie, a scrub mask, or a dog bandana in one or more of our gazillion fabrics, please go ahead and do so *on the website* at your earliest convenience!

I'll still be available to make various items, but it will be more of a custom order. This means I'll order fabrics on an individual basis, and that will take a bit more time.

Happy Thanksgiving! Many of you know that we recently lost my mom, who had been living with us for the last two months of her life. Hope y'all have been enjoying the summer so far. How have your masks been holding up?

With the Covid Delta variant now rearing its ugly spikes(?) almost everywhere, I thought I'd remind you that I'm still here to create quality masks for you and your loved ones. I have lots of cute fabric leftover (see picture)! And since Delta appears to be more contagious, I can still add a permanent extra layer to your mask for an additional $1.

Please let me know if you don't see a print you want. I can always order more fabric!

Our Barkin Bobbin facemasks are 100% cotton with two layers, and the inner layer is a solid color to differentiate it from the outside fabric. With the new more transmissible coronavirus variants, you might want to add a non-woven, fusible interfacing 3rd layer to your mask (it's $1 extra per mask).

Hi everyone! We wanted to wish y'all Happy Holidays and mention a couple of changes.

1. We will no longer be offering the less expensive USPS First Class mail as a shipping option. Unfortunately, several customers' packages have gotten quite delayed or lost in the mail and with First Class, we have no way to track them.

2. Our Christmas rush is officially over! We'll be on hiatus from now until Jan. 4. Please feel free to order, just know that I won't be sewing again until then. I'll be checking my FB messages and Gmail every day, however, if you need to get in touch.

Here's hoping next year brings brighter days and safer times. Thank you all for being a part of this busy online retail start-up. We so appreciate your interest and especially your business!

Most of the epidemiologists interviewed said that even with vaccines, it will probably take a year or more for many activities to safely restart and that some things may never return to the way they were.

There is a resignation that we will have to live with the virus because there are so many unknowns: how we overcome the challenges and expense of vaccine distribution; how effective the vaccines will be in a larger population; how long immunity will last; if the virus mutates; the percentage of the population that actually is willing to be vaccinated; if we develop a highly therapeutic and accessible drug that stops Covid in its tracks; and when we finally achieve herd immunity (most scientists say at least 70% of the population) and if that remains a permanent situation.

First Class mail has been really, really slow, and with the holidays fast approaching, shipping times will most likely increase dramatically! Priority Mail comes with tracking and $50 in insurance.
