We love our Happy Tails and this one has so happy for Marmalade; who is now known as Sophie Mae! Sophie Mae looks very spoiled and happy; we couldn't have hoped for anything more.

Check out all our dogs from the hiking program last week! We get together with the people from the community to take our shelter dogs on a hike every Saturday. You can take a shelter dog on a hike while getting some exercise!

This will be either a 2.5-mile or a 4-mile hike on the NC Trails with the SG Hiking Team right down the road from the farm.

Host Update from Amarillo's sleepover! Her host described her as "magical" and has great feedback from their time together:

This girl is my favorite, hands down!
✨She was very timid the first day, but by the 3rd day had fully embraced her routine and has been just living the life of luxury ever since.
✨She hasn't had a ton of interaction with other dogs, but she had no interest in the cat she saw.
✨Walking around downtown Apex, she met and was fawned over by kids ranging from 7-years-old and up. She did exceptionally well interacting with them gently and with care. She was very patient in letting others give her love.
✨She doesn't pull, yank, or react on leash. She's extremely disinterested in cold weather and will try to go right back inside!
✨She rides very well in the car. No anxiety and waits in the car very well, making it easy to run errands with her.
✨She is reliably housebroken and well behaved!
✨She sleeps marvelously in the crate. With soft bedding, she started to prefer being in crate over free roam.

Hippo is an adult terrier/pittie mix with the sweetest personality. She is super gentle including with treats, and she gives the best hugs! She's such goofball when she is feeling playful or getting pets and just loves to lean into you when she is excited. In Foster: Cards pups 🃏

The super sweet and gentle “Cards” litter spent lots of quality time with their Mama, who loved playing with them and taught them good manners. Mama was able assisted in puppy training by the resident dog in their foster home. These puppies absolutely love playing with the neighborhood children who often come to visit. These very well-socialized pups are more than ready for their forever homes! 🏠

Host Update from Ricardo's Sleepover!

"Ricardo was the best boy! We had people in and out of our apartment, and he had no issues. He was very friendly and cuddly with everyone. He was easy to walk on the leash; he is a strong dog but a good listener. He would get a little nervous on car rides, but overall, he was great and he sat in the seat or on the floor. Ricardo was fantastic about letting us know when he needed to go out; he always stood by the back door and usually went potty in the same spot. Ricardo is the best snuggle buddy ever! I slept with him in my bed every night, and he was such a good boy and did not get into anything overnight. Ricardo has the sweetest eyes that are just impossible not to fall in love with!"

Bye Felicia!

Felicia came to us as a stray from one of our rural shelter partners, and her personality is as bright as her spirit! Felicia is around 2 years old, loves other dogs and is outgoing with everyone she meets. Unfortunately, she has an old eye injury that left her without vision, and it needs to be removed to give her a pain-free life. While she has learned to navigate with one eye, this surgery will help her live more comfortably, and we already have an adopter ready to give her a forever home once she's healed. The cost of her medical care is around $1,300. Let’s get Felicia’s eye surgery done and her into that forever home!

In Foster: Noodle pups 🍝

If you love your noodles then check out these pup noodles. These adorable babies are Retriever, Labrador mixes. These active little puppies are on their way to being house and crate trained. They are good with children and other dogs as well. Their favorite past time is to run around the yard and play.

Meet Angelica! 🐾 This petite love bug adores people and loves having a human nearby, even when playing outside. She enjoys walks, is perceptive, and trots home once she recognizes her path. Angelica is crate-trained, mostly house-trained, and super treat-motivated—she’s already learned “sit”! With big puppy energy, she loves zoomies, stuffies, and kongs. Friendly with dogs and polite with new people (though she may bark at men before warming up), Angelica is ready to find her forever family!
