Greystone Farm was bought in 2007 by the Melhinch Family and is operated by the trainer, Dale Wright. The 40 acre farm, with a beautiful 30 stall barn, is conveniently located off US Hwy 1 in Wake Forest, NC. Mission

Our mission is to provide our riders and horses with the tools essential to compete at the highest levels of competition through top quality equine education, developing physically a

nd mentally, while creating a life-long passion for exceptional horsemanship. Company Synopsis

Here at Greystone Farm, we offer many services including:

Full Board, consisting of...
- On-site 24 hour care
- Stall cleaning (twice daily)
- Appropriate blanketing (blankets, flysheets, fly masks, etc.)
- Individual or group turnout
- Grain/hay (fed twice daily)

Full & Half Training includes lessons and/or professional rides. Show Competitions at many local USEF 'A’ and ‘AA’ rated hunter/jumper events, including show series by TIEC in Tryon NC, Equus Events in Aiken SC, WEC in Ocala, and multiple venues in Virginia.

Fabulous young hunter available at a BARGAIN to someone who will continue his education and show career.

Vinny is a wonderful young horse who just lacks show miles. This horse is brave and will jump around any ring cold. He’s been to WEC and showed indoors & outdoors without blinking an eye. While Vinny isn’t a huge horse, he has enough stride to do anything. He would easily move up to be a competitive Small Junior, with enough athleticism to transition towards the jumper ring also.

Asking Mid-High Fours for the year, but open to discussions for the right home!l

We also had a handful of Hunter/Eq horses at Tryon Summer 6, and everyone had a great week!

Ashleigh and Novello had great rides in the EQ ring. Their 2nd place finish in the Dover secured their spot at the Dover Finals in October 🥈

Everly and Zipped Strait Up won two of the walk trot classes to secure Champion on Sunday. Hadley rode some of her best trips with him in the Long Stirrup as well 🏆

Krista and Janita had great trips in the 2’6” all week. The highlight for this pair was getting to move up and jump 2’9” together for the first time on Friday 😎

Addison and Theo continue to impress in the 2’6”, earning a 5th in a large Hunter Challenge class. They also took home the blue in a large USHJA undersaddle. Addison and Theo also got to move up and jump around the 2’9” on Friday and did great 🥇

Ashleigh and Cardano L blew us away this week! They showed in the Children’s Hunters for the first time this weekend, taking home a 2nd and 3rd over fences with a first round classic score of 82!! Not bad for a jumper that we are transitioning to the EQ ring 😉

Lissette, Dale, and Helios had great rides in the 2’6” USHJA earning some great ribbons over fences and undersaddle 🤩

Team Greystone had a wonderful week participating in the USHJA Zone Jumper Championships for Zone 3.

🥈 Vera and Catch Me 53 were part of the Silver Medal team for the 1.10m JR section! Vera also had a fast, clean, round for a 6th place finish individually on the first day of competition.

🥉 Courtney and Revelation were in the Bronze Medal team for the 1.20m AM section! Courtney had great rides all week ending with a 6th place finish in the individual final.

Junior Hunter Finals 2024 was an amazing experience!

Ashleigh & Novello competed in the Gladstone EQ Cup and the 3’3” Large Junior Hunters. The highlight of the week was getting 14th in the Hunter Classic round, but they were incredible all week.

We are so excited to step into finals season with this pair in the fall 🤩

We had a blast at the Triangle Farms Sandhills ‘A’ Show last week 🎉 Lots of new pairings and some new divisions!

🏆🏆 Bonito stole the show this week. Addison piloted him to Champion in the 2’6” Children’s Hunters, winning two over fences! Everly rode him in the W/T and also earned Champion, she had never trotted on him before Saturday at the show!

🏆 Helios won 4/5 classes in the 2’6” USHJA to earn Champion!

🏅 Benjamin and Talia made their horse show debut, taking Reserve in the W/T division!

🥇 Janita and Krista continue impress in the 2’6” Adult Hunters, winning the Classic for the weekend!

🥇 Novello and Ashleigh took the blue in the Maclay & had excellent rides in the Junior Hunters.

🥇 Artistic Surprise and Nikki had an excellent first show together, winning their Eq on the flat class. They also had some excellent trips in the long stirrup, with more good ribbons!

🎗️ Confederate had his first show over fences, and he did not disappoint! Torey showed him in the 2’ all week & he placed well in good sized classes!

🎗️ Revelation and Dr. Courtney had clean rides all weekend in the 1.10m AM Jumpers with a red ribbon finish in the classic!

🎗️ Street Smart and Emily had a good week in the 3’ Adults, with top prizes in all their classes!

🎗️ Simpatico and Maren moved up to the 3’ Adult Hunters with some top placings over fences!

We had another great trip to TIEC for the 3rd week of their Welcome Series 🤩🤩🤩

🥇 Simpatico and Maren earn Champion of the Low Adults with 3 class wins! What a great week for this pair!

🥇 Novello and Ashleigh win the Maclay & qualify for the 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal finals with a 6th place finish!

🥇 Syndicate and Leigh had an impressive first show back at the 3’ height after some time off. They won a trip in the 3’ Adults with other top placings in the division!

🥇 Catch Me 53 and Vera had a great week in the 1.10m JR Jumpers, with a win in the first class & a 10th place Classic finish!

🥇 Janita and Krista won an over fences, and got third in the other trip, of the 2’6” foothills. They also got 2nd in the Low Adult Challenge Round!

🏅 Bubka D’Armanville and Isla had great trips in the 1.0m JR/Am Jumpers. They earned enough points to qualify for the 1.00/1.05 Zone Jumper Championships!

🏅 Audi and Sharyn had their first show together and got great ribbons in the WTC. We are excited to get these two going over fences for their next outing!

🏅 Novello & Ashleigh - 2nd in Maclay & Jumpseat Medals, plus 3rd in the USEF Medal 😎

did a great job with their Winter Encore Show

🏆 Bubka D’Armanville and Isla were unstoppable in the 1.0m JR/AM Jumpers. Champion with multiple class wins. They also brought home the blue in the classic! 🥇🥇🥇

🏆 Syndicate and Torey finished the weekend with Champion in the Low Adults, winning two over fences! 🤩

🏅 Simpatico and Maren had their best show yet in the Low Adults, winning one over fences class & earning top placings in the rest. ‘Taco’ was also Reserve Champ of the 2’3” USHJA with Fiona! 👏🏻

🎗️ Cheers and Remy rounded out our Low Adults with great trips all weekend, & many top placings! 💕

🥇 Novello and Ashleigh had a wonderful weekend. They won a trip in the combined Performance Hunters, were 2nd in both the Maclay & Jumpseat Medal, & finished 3rd in the Dover! 🥇🥈🥉

🎗️ Catch Me 53 and Vera had a great weekend in the 1.10m JR Jumpers, earning good ribbons in all her classes. They also did the Jumpseat Medal for the first time, earning 4th! 😎

🎗️ Cardano L and Dale had some beautiful trips in the Performance Hunters. It was only Cardi’s second time showing over hunter jumps, & he was a super star! 💫

🎗️ Confederate and Leigh entered a handful of under saddle classes & came home with some good ribbons! It was Rhett’s first horse show experience & he handled it like a seasoned professional! We can’t wait to see this horse continue to progress. ✨✨

He is straightforward, comfortable, and careful over the jumps. Enough scope to jump from any distance. Naturally big strided with a great lead change, plus he can do all the equitation flatwork. Cardi could also easily step up to the 1.20/1.30m, or make up to be your next top equitation mount. Come try him, you will love him!

Cherrybrook Lucky Penny and Ava stole the show, qualifying for pony finals their first show out in the Med Geeens! Winning and over fences class & earning top ribbons in all the classes, this duo made the move to 2’6” look effortless 🤩🤩

Catch Me 53 and Vera had a spectacular week in the 1.10m Jr Jumpers. With multiple clear & fast rounds, they were top three in all their classes, including 3rd in the combined 1.10 Jr/Am Snowflake Classic ❄️❄️

We had three riders in the Low Adult Hunters this show. Syndicate and Leigh had their first show back after a year off & they were superstars, earning ribbons in a large division ✨✨
Simpatico and Maren made the move to the 2’6” this show, and had some wonderful trips across the week. They earned some great ribbons in the USHJA as well as the Low Adults 🎄🎄
Janita and Krista continue to cruise around the 2’6” with ease, and Janita even pulled a 3rd over fences in a large USHJA division ☃️☃️

To the Nines and Shannon competed in the Low Children’s Hunters with great results as well! Multiple 3rd-4th place awards in a big division, including 4th in the Hunter Challenge 🎅🏻🎅🏻
