During these hot and humid months, it’s important to understand the early signs of heatstroke to avoid serious outcomes.

If your dog is experiencing any of these symptoms, get them to a well-ventilated area and spray or sponge them with cool (not cold) water. You may also use a fan to blow cool air on them. If you are unable to reduce their body temperature, take them to your veterinarian as soon as possible.

Immediate action and correct treatment can mean the difference between a swift recovery and long-term complications.
