We have had a big week! so much training, socializing, and exploring has happened. And these puppies are primed and ready to begin their big adventures with their new forever families. We are super excited about the homes we have found for them and I can’t wait to see how they grow and mature. They’ve got a lot to learn yet, but I feel a lot of satisfaction in the start to life that I’ve given them. I am still looking to lineup homes for one male and one female. Fireworks. Many dogs have anxiety and fear when fireworks go off. We help them be prepared and help remove some of the fear by exposing them to these noises in a safe and calm environment, so that their brain registers it as a non-threat.

These AKC Golden retrievers will be 8 weeks old on February 6. Their parents are both genetically health tested and cleared and loving family dogs. These pups should have great temperaments to make family pets. We practice puppy culture, which is a program used by some breeders to produce dogs who are calm, confident, and easy to train. We have worked on house training, crate training, noise desensitization, lots and lots of socialization and basic good manners. Most of my previous clients have stated their puppies were 85% House trained by the time they went home! Located in Wake Forest, North Carolina, but happy to help provide transportation if needed.

If you’ve ever bathed a dog who hates water or just taking a bath, you’ll understand. For those who haven’t, it can be an extremely frustrating and somewhat stressful experience. I’m doing my best with these puppies to make sure they are comfortable being bathed, so that their new families will have a more enjoyable and peaceful experience when bathtime rolls around. Let’s face it, most dogs are going to be bathed at a minimum 6 to 12 times a year. Many dogs get a bath each week! Might as well put in the work now to make it a pleasant experience. One of my kids feeds them treats, while I spray them down and bathe them. I go at their pace. Usually the first training session is just them standing in the bathtub with no water eating treats. Then we move to turning the water on, but not spraying them and this time We actually got them wet and bathed.

The puppies are loving exploring new things! I’ve revamped their area and added a lot of new space for them. They have playtime once a day with some new item and today it was the tunnel. I’m sure we’ll bring it back because it seems to be a favorite!

Look at these guys! They are so fun and we are just loving watching them grow. Lots of work and day-to-day interactions. It’s time to get serious about their training and helping them have good positive experiences. They are doing so well! Still have one female and five males up for discussion.

They are perfect, and beautiful and oh so snuggly. We are just loving this stage with the puppies. We’ve started giving them warm goats milk to start the weaning process nice and slow, and they are so into it! :-) Most of them end up with a milk bath by the time it’s all over because they are so enthusiastic. we are putting a lot of planning and thought into the next five weeks for them to make sure they receive all the training we can fit in before they go to their new homes! They’ve already learned to crawl off of their bed to use the bathroom, and before you know, we will be introducing the litter box!

I have three boys and one girl at my house now. Reduced. Super cuddly and good with the kids. Some really good personalities in this litter. The three boys are curly coated and the girl has the wavy coat.

Another great review! 😍 every litter I wonder if I’ve done enough and worry that I should be doing more. Puppy culture program is so amazing. Just a little bit of work makes a big difference!

This is why I put the time in with these puppies. Reviews like this prove to me that it is worth the extra effort and hours of training my kids and I do. As soon as I brought my poodle home who was raised on puppy culture I knew that I had to do it with my program as well. It makes all the difference in the world! If you ever have a chance to buy from a breeder who practices puppy culture with their litters do it! The amount of time and effort you will save not to mention the stress and tears are worth it!

Have you ever heard of crate conditioning? Crate conditioning is different from crate training. Crate training is where you teach your dog to obey a command to get into their crate or teach them to be quiet while in their crate. Crate CONDITIONING Is where you allow the dog to have pleasant and rewarding interactions with their crate to the point where they consider it a safe and cozy place to rest. The way I do this as a breeder is by starting around four weeks old including crates with doors propped open into their area. I put all the softest bedding and the comfiest blankets in there so they learn it is the best place to sleep! When they go home to new families, they will still need to work on crate training but the deep psychological work of convincing them that the crate is a good thing has already been done!
